When you expecting it back?? Well today i fitted my rear strut brace, also removed my steering wheel etc and changed the rotary coupling for the horn and airbag as that was goosed!! Removed the old heat wrap from the exuast manifold etc and fitted the new heat wrap (In the pics its plastic ties but that was only for ease when wrapping it....its now got metal ties fitted....just in case someone says "Do you realise they will melt ). Also started modifing and mounting my oil cooler in between the intercooler and radiator!! Tomorrow i will finish the oil cooler and start cleaning up my engine bay!! Heat wrap New alloy twin fan radiator Oil cooler position More pics tomorrow
green_goblin Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 Well got the oil cooler all mounted today, think it looks quite good....not only will the cooler get good air flow but the pipes will 2!! Also a question for the guru's, I need to connect up my fans on my radiator, i have removed the old plug from my old radiator fan and there are three wires!! i thought it would be a live ground and earth but i get resistance across all three!! my new fans are just 2 wires live and ground....can someone help my and tell me what the colours are so i can connect it up?? Pic attached Cheers for the help Jase
jcscoob Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Jase cant help you with the wires, maybe you should find a good sparky !! But the cooler's lookin the biz

green_goblin Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 Well been working on my alternator and power steering pump etc......buffing them up then going to spray them with clear coat heat paint!! Got the Inlet manifold finished...pics below
Neofox Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Just wondering what tools you used to polish up your alternator and inlet? I'm in the process of stripping down my Type-R and about to do the same. Cheers Ian
sma01 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 looking good mate, cant wait to see it when its all back on the car.... scott

Then sprayed it all with clear heat paint so it stays that way! fai 17 said: Bling bling Cheers man sma01 said: looking good mate, cant wait to see it when its all back on the car....scott Yeh i cant wiat to get it all fitted and see how it looks Jcscoob said: Looking good mate, im diggin the raw metal look You need to be getting your ass down and seeing it in the flesh Cheers for the comments guys Edited September 15, 2009 by green_goblin
green_goblin Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 Well got my fuel rails all cut and cleaned up then sent off to maf from scoobie net to modify so that i can fit the braided hoses!! Should be getting my engine on tuesday so some good pics to come shortly Jase
green_goblin Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 Arch said: Jase glad you got hold of him Yeh cheers for the info Arch, he seems like a good guy!! should have them back towards the end of the week so will get the block mouted in the car etc then get the fuel pipes all made up etc Do you have any advise on pipe lengths from the pressure regulator and fuel filter etc or any pics that would help me?? I am going to re-mount my fuel pressure regulator in the middle at the back. Cheers Jase
arch Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Jase I fed from the fuel feed to my first T-piece then to cylinders 1 and 3 first. Out of 2 and 4 to 2nd t-piece and then to FPR and then back to return. As for pipe lengths I made mine so my t-pieces were pretty central in the manifold with enough length to allow me to p-clip them up off the block to the underside of the manifold to try and avoid any uneccesary heat transfer. Other than that it's pretty much put it where it best routes. I would suggest using proper p-clips to route the pipes to avoid any chafing issues

Also to get equal pressure do the lengths to the t-pieces need to be the same length but coming from the fuel filter and going to the regulator dont matter? Cheers Jase
arch Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Jase there are some engine pics in my project thread and you can see some white clips guiding the fuel hose in the direction required, there is one obvious one right above the alternator. They are basically rubber covered metal clips in the shape of a P that guide cables , pipes etc. This sort of thing http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/35mm-RUBBER-LINED-ME...id=p3286.c0.m14 You can get plastic ones but they are prone to snapping. You need to measure the diameter of your hose and buy the clips accordingly. Ref the fuel line lengths, at 3 or 4 bar fuel pressure a little difference in length will make no difference to your fuel delivery but its probably best practice to keep the hoses between the rails as close to equal as possible, from the feed to the rail and back to the regulator is purely down to your choice of route
green_goblin Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 Cheers Arch.....big help mate!! I will also go have a look at you project pics
green_goblin Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 Moved the fuel pressure regulator in to the middle today, but noticed on the other thread that stevo has three main connections on his fuel pressure regulator!! on my f/p/r i only use 2 connections....whay is this?? I thought it comes from the fuel filter to the two fuel rails then from the fuel rails to the F/P/R and back to tank?? confused, can someone help?? Pic of Stevo's and a pic of my one below And my one Also today when i was moving the F/P/R i noticed that the rubber part on top of the gauge was torn slightly and some of the oil was coming out of the gauge (only a small amount) but does this mean i need to change the gauge?? Also a couple of extra pics below Going to be under sealing the car tomorrow, got a phone call today so should have the engine on Wednesday Jase
