johnnyr6 Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Well turned out to be better than expected. Can't remember colin's times but with the niggles (and diff sorted) i'm sure there is more to come. I'm sure he'll post em up soon. Good banter all round with a great atmosphere. Well done guys for organising this. Johnny

jimser Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 well done to everyone who made the effort to travel up/down to crail today. chris,i was gutted for you mate i know how much you were looking forward to this and for something so trivial to stop you in your tracks is a bummer, well done for organising this and for managing to keep your chin up and try and inspire others to excel could only manage a 12.4 myself when the strip was damp and my clutch has told me to go and die quietly so that will need to be addressed for next year lol had a good laugh all the same and well done to matt and his mate in the skyline for the banter there were 5 cars up there today capable of 10 sec runs but unfortunately none quite made it,always next time guys. well done to colin who's times were steadily getting better until the diff problems and to adam in the skyline. and not forgetting matt in the p1 for coming up from wales, well done mate jimser 3
jimser Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Where is jimser 1, 2, and 4 hiding in the dark
colin_ross Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Well done to everyone who made the effort today. It was one of the quietest days I've ever seen at at crail but it had some of the best cars I've ever seen there. On the way up we all ooohed when we spotted a gt-r, by the time we left we were tired of whupping them. Top banter from the skyline boys BTW. Real nice bunch of goys with some very tasty motors. They do seem a bit obsessed with how much power your car makes though. Three of them asked me that same question at the same time. I had a frustrating morning trying to get to grips with launching my car. It was only my third time on the strip and the second was three years ago. As the day went on I started to get the measure of it and the times started to fall. I took the car knowing it had a few niggles and once they're sorted, as well as the transmission, I know it's got a ten in it. Not bad for a full fat road car built built by a couple of spanners and a tool. Whens the next one?
colin_ross Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Thats right Jim, at 128mph. Had a few 11.2's as well so hopefully not a fluke.
fai17 Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Thats right Jim, at 128mph. Had a few 11.2's as well so hopefully not a fluke. Welldone Colin
jimser Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Thats right Jim, at 128mph. Had a few 11.2's as well so hopefully not a fluke. not a crisp packet in sight mate
colin_ross Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Welldone Colin Thanks Peter. Looking forward to facing off with your car. She almost ready? Jim - no crisps for me if I want to continue with the weight saving.
sti pretender Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Great fun yesterday, pity I had to leave early my times were coming down as the day went on (and once I chucked my mate out). Car had no issues except getting traction. Hopefully get under the 13's next time, better conditions and not carrying 1/2 tank of fuel. Good to catch up with lots of folk, thanks to Chris for organising this, pity about the car hopefully see it run the next time. Hats off to DamienP1 long trek up for a trackday but car is some machine.
