More to the point, did anyone KNOW? Seems odd that on a car enthusiast website, I've never heard mention of this event...

I stumbled on it by accident today when I went to the shops, was a good wee event, I have posted up some pictures on tin tops thread below, I also found out this is Vauxhalls last season as they are pulling out of the btcc.

It seemed really odd to have it at 12 noon on a Thursday but I suppose the event was for the media so they could promote the race on Sunday.

Was weird though to stumble on touring cars in the middle of Edinburgh.

First I heard of it too.... It's descrimination against us northerners I tells ya!

But then I don't read any newpapers.. Useful news usually finds it's way to me.... Not this time though.. :lol: Knew about the BTCC at Knockhill but not this.. :)

WOuldn't have been able to make it anyway, but that's not the point :P

Only saw it on the web last night and also in Herald & Post which only arrived this morning but it's out on Thursdays anyway so would have been too late. My son would have LOVED this and he was in Edinburgh with mum and sister that day! Rubbish!

It was in The Sun and The Daily Record, also heard it on Real Radio.

I also got an email from Knockhill about it.

Didn't go myself, but my son Nick and his pals went.

Ah all the high class newspapers then... Dont think that we get real radio up here, think thats a central belt thing...?

Yeah, know what you mean Al, but then it was printed in the Daily racist! its not a hugely popular paper up here... I wouldn't have made it, but it was only a fine line of a few days that i missed it by, and I would have travelled for it...

yeah, Weekly papers are pretty rubbish for things like that! lol I've never seen anyone read the local free papers! :lol:

This was advertised on Knockhill's website for ages, then on BTCC web site as well as advertised on local media ie radio and paper. Never managed to go myself as they thought it would be a good idea to make it through the day when most sane normal people were working. A few years back they had it at 6pm, this was before I was into photography IIRC as I cant find pics of it, and it was a very good event to go to.

I wasn't going as I'm offshore, so it wasn't much interest to me... and as said it's been on various websites for ages
