lumsden26 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 had the chance of swapping my scoob for and evo 4 just wondering what the main differences where and why do the evo's seem to hold their valvue more? think i'm too attatched to the scooby.
Joe G Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Don't do it you will regret it!! I had an evo 5 before being converted to the scooby world!! lol Had nothing but problems with the evo and parts are much more expensive than with the scoobs. They are quick and capable cars but the problems i encountered with mine put me off them for life!! Started with engine missfire, then anti yaw control went, helical bolt in the diff, clutch, and the list goes on!! And that was all sensible driving. Just my 2p's worth lol
RS Grant Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Make sure you get a lead thrown into the deal, cause the crank on the EVO 4 engines like to go for a walk. I'm not a big EVO fan but if I was to go for one then it would be an EVO 6 Tommi Makkinen or an EVO 8 FQ-MR that I'd be looking for. Cheers, Grant
StewartyBoy Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Older ones seem to have a lot more issues than Impreza's of the same age. I do like Evo's, especially 6's but I reckon if your going to have to spend a lot of money maintaining an older car make sure its one you dont mind parting with cash over, otherwise it will be absolute heartbreak!
lumsden26 Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 cheers for the advice just what i needed to hear wasn't really considering it but someone mentions it the idea gets stuck. love the scoob think might just upgrade to a blob eye.
Joe G Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Upgrade to a spec c!! You will lose the flat four burble but you will be grinning from ear to ear
