stum450n Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Hi guys, I'm toying with the idea of organising a photoshoot for the local members and their cars but wanted to see what level of interest there was. I had originally approached Blenheim Palace but that looks like a no go now SO... what do you lot fancy? A gritty, urban landscape or the beautiful rolling hills of The Cotswolds? Looks likely to be something we do late July or August so we still have some chance of good weather. If you're interested, get your names down below so I can see if it's worth getting it all organised. Cheers, Stu
andyjudge Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Me too Countryside would be good, didn't think you could get a car anywhere into Oxford City Centre anymore. Other venue could be somewhere Industrial, Big Pipes, Girders etc....
stum450n Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 Well I was thinking that if we did an 'urban' shoot, it would be at night so no traffic but if Iain can 'pull some strings' I think it'll be REALLY good to have the location as something a little different! HINT, HINT!
andyjudge Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 How about aviation Cheers Iain Now you're talking Iain wasn't really hinting
stum450n Posted July 11, 2009 Author Posted July 11, 2009 Well I heard back from Blenheim Palace today who confirmed that a shoot on their grounds will be anything upto £2000 PER HOUR!!!! So that's definitely a No No on that front BUT that's not going to stop us... speaking to a pro car photographer from the region on Monday for some location advice so that should throw up a good few options! An abandoned power station has already been discussed as a possibility!

stum450n Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 Anyone else? Come on guys, I'm going to need at least 7>10 cars to make this worth digging into my own pocket for!

Big 'D' Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Yeah get that mighty Tri-Star in the background Iain... We would not want to spoil them too much lol Come one guys this could be fun, Cheers Iain
gc8-r Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 so is this going on?????? so how many more do you need stu? and have you found anywhere yet?
stum450n Posted July 19, 2009 Author Posted July 19, 2009 so is this going on?????? so how many more do you need stu? and have you found anywhere yet? ideally could do with another three or four but yes, it will be going ahead. It's now just a case of where and when. We've three possible locations (and anything Big D may have in mind) so I'll be visiting each one, taking some test shots and deciding which will be best suited.
stum450n Posted July 19, 2009 Author Posted July 19, 2009 what about "honourable" members? lol You guys are always very welcome! To be honest, you've kinda prempted me anyway as I was going to open up an invite to SW, Bucks and Berks too once the details where slightly more set in stone!
stum450n Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 Rick guys, a little update for you... Over the past week or two (with a gap suitably added for illness), I've been checking out possible photo shoot locations in and around Oxfordshire and, after a detour on the way home from work tonight, I think I've cracked it! It's not quite what I originally had in mind but there's enough room for up to 10 cars, it's out of the way AND [imho] really stands out as somewhere a little different! So, take a look below and let me know what you think. If everyone else is happy, I'll sort out some timings - it'll need to be sooner rather than later though before the trees go brown again! Excuse the pic, it was raining and I won't be taking the pics anyway... this isn't a patch on how the final pics will end up!
gc8-r Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 can i get my car up there.....haha if so i'll be there... chris

stum450n Posted August 5, 2009 Author Posted August 5, 2009 That's a good enough response for me! I'll get some dates worked out with the photographer (she's my lil sis so she'll be flexible enough I would imagine) and I'll get a new post up confirming times, dates etc.
