lol nice, better takeoff than i got. was even worse the second run. nearly stalled! it was my first ever drag, thats my excuse!!!! B):D

The key is to blip the throttle between about 5-6k revs and then let go of the clutch and

away you go.

lol, what a comeback!! i was trying to feather the throttle at 3500 - 4000 rpm, didn't get a chance tho, was not expecting the lights to come down that fast. and the second one i screwed up, didn't even get a chance to get my revs up! my reaction times are a bit pants, 0.402 and 0.490. :D

the race was run at the Stornoway airport, not on the main strip mind! the setup is ace, the tarmac is imaculate! the next one is for charity on the 25th of July. cant wait, hope i can make it, I've caught the 1/4 mile bug!!!! :rolleyes:B):P

My car has 100k now is on it's 3rd clutch. Last one lasted 30k miles then i did 15 full bore launches

at crail and it last another 4k after that before it started to slip.

I'm the blue STi not the Type RA! He's the bigger turbo...TD05 is it? Wait till my remap when I should be hitting 340 bhp with similar torque and should be better times.

Jesus Ciaran! - I think I will need a new clutch "soonish" but its fine for now, just the bit feels a bit high...no slipping at all

To be fair i have a mate who is ex AWD who did the clutch. Only cost me £65 plus the cost of the

clutch and flywheel.

I did guess you were unlikely to put a video of yourself getting beat i know i wouldn't!!

Hope you get on ok with your mapping, I have mine on 17th of July hoping for 330-340

which im sure will shorten my clutch life some what

Interesting......

Just had a look on the Calmac website and a return for car and driver is £87.20 might be good if we could get a few cars over from the mainland and make a weekend of it as Stornoway can be a good night out. :) and a good curry at the Rabba

Only problem I can see is taking a decent quantity of spare fuel over in the car, Calmac might get a bit twitchy about that :P

seeing as we are all at it here are a couple of old vids of mine

ive got no recommendations mate, never had to stay anywhere on the island but my own house lol. plenty of hotel and b&b's about the town. it would have to be a long weekend as there is no ferry off the island on sunday. lol :P

would you be wanting to enter your car?

Would there be camping near by & what is the cost to enter a car

lo, i wouldn't like to recommend this event to anybody any more as my Lewis Car Club membership has been terminated. ;) therefore i can not take part in the drag race, ralley, carting etc. hope i dont get deported off the island next!!! tho i might as well leave as i am now a marked man! :D
