wilky Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I thought that phrase was blown out the water. Snigger............
wilky Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 More pics of the cooler....i would show you the core insider the cooler but that would be letting you see something that is for my eyes only:p You must be referring to the fact that the inner core is also finned. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...ntercoolers.htm Was the APS one that you butchered not finned? Mine is. Callum
Dirtbrother Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I must admit to being new here, but i do know this car better than its owner... Its kinda weird seing pictures of my work on t'internet, lol! For those who are interested - progress is indeed forthcoming, and a tune shall be had soon... But i better let Peter break the news! As for Mr Wilky - remember i built your car too

Mine is. Callum If the intercooler has "turbulators" inside, then that's nothing new in terms of design, been around for years. I'd also be looking at the size of the cores internally when deciding what intercooler to use. As an aside, hello Wilky, long time no see or hear.
wilky Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 hello Wilky, long time no see or hear. Hello Alan, nice to hear from you, I take it your abroad as well? I havent been around as much as I used to, with work commitments and initially moving up to Aberdeen. I just pop on now and again to bam up Lucky Pierre ;-) I'm in The USA now. Callum W

Callum W Yeah, I haven't been around either and no interest in Scoobs since i landed in Oz. It's just not the same over here. Scoobs are expensive in comparison to UK, so i can't see the point in spending what i feel is over the odds, even though they may be good value here. The other reason is cause you're very limited in what you can do to the cars and penalties are high if you get "caught" with illegal modifications. Just not worth it in my opinion.
colin_ross Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Just not worth it in my opinion. Plus, you are getting to that age. So........ford or holden?

AlanG Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Plus, you are getting to that age.So........ford or holden? I went Ford. Holden wins it though in terms of popularity. They're everywhere
WUZ Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Alan - never realised you were down here (I'm on a rig up off Barrow Island - Northern end of WA - for Amerada Hess) - you in or around Perth by chance? Couple of the guys on the rig run WRX's and they all seems amazed to read what we're doing to these cars on here as they are - as you rightly stated - screwed for any minor mod these days on a road car. 1/2 expected you to be in a Maloo actually....................................... or a Grange edtition HSV Russell
wilky Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Hello Russell! Have you been tying any Kangaroo's down recently? We had a guy out your way doing a job for BHP.(Obviously not your bhp) Callum
WUZ Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) Hello Russell!Have you been tying any Kangaroo's down recently? We had a guy out your way doing a job for BHP.(Obviously not your bhp) Callum no m8 but I thought about sh@gging a wallaby....... Actually spent the Winter down here with the wife and daughter and absolutely loved it.................. pool in the back garden, beer in the fridge. My daughters swimming skills came on immensely whilst out there ( benefits of their "State Swim" program), she is now 3 and has the swimming skill of Inverurie 2 years older than her. I'd move in a heartbeat and live in OZ permanently................................................... but 54% tax on my payscale is a killer Edited August 27, 2009 by WUZ

I'd move in a heartbeat and live in OZ permanently................................................... but 54% tax on my payscale is a killer I know the feeling, Im on 28% over here so it kind of balances itself out compared to UK. I get an allowance for accommodation and medical insurance, but the myth that the USA is cheaper to live in than UK is now tosh, apart for petrol prices, cigarettes and beer. (Which as you can imagine is the important bits) Im going to store the S9 and try some V8 fettling over here. There is a shop that specializes in gas flowing cylinder heads, cams and carburation and its caveman stuff compared to forced induction so Im going to get an older muscle car and play. Parts are quite cheap as well. Are you still at AD or have you stepped up? Callum
RA Dunk Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Are you still at AD or have you stepped up? He`s a wee bit higher than that now Wilky (still waiting for him to get me across there lol)
WUZ Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) Callum - now pushing Tools so moved on a little from last time we met. The Aussies are good fun to work with but the old myth of them being hard gratfers is also bu114h!t. Majority of the are some of the slackest workers on the planet, more interested in beer and women than anything else. Still - beats working in India................................ just Stay safe m8! Russell ps - sorry for the off-topic Peter..................................... but I'm sure it'll be a while before a running report is available Edited August 27, 2009 by WUZ
wilky Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Aye, sorry for going off topic Pierre, Hurry up and do something so we can annoy you again Callum

AlanG Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Alan - never realised you were down here (I'm on a rig up off Barrow Island - Northern end of WA - for Amerada Hess) - you in or around Perth by chance? No. Thought about going there but most brits end up there, so what's the point? Aye, sorry for going off topic Pierre,Callum Nah, i'm not. Might as well keep ourselves amused to alleviate the boredom and stop the thread from going down the page list. That has been factored while choosing the core Wha are the dimensions within the core Peter?
thefastone Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) Sorry for the Diversion, but I have a question about the Aussie rules... Whats an illegal mod over there then? Sounds a bit crap if thats the case... Fair Coming on Peter, but how long is it going to be on the road for this time mate??? Interested to see it running though... Edited August 28, 2009 by thefastone
AlanG Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Simple things like aftermarket dump valves are illegal. If you lower the car, there must be at least 100mm clearance between body and ground. The police have a 100mm sample to check ground clearance.
