hacky Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Alright, been around for a wee while now and still not uploaded pics of my car. Been to a couple of the meets so far, so you may have already seen it. Anyway heres some pics - as you can tell I'm no photographer!
cullenmin Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Looks nice and clean, a good example there. Not a big fan of the big scoop but everyones different Rich
hacky Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 Looks nice and clean, a good example there. Not a big fan of the big scoop but everyones different Rich Cheers mate. You also drive a white type R don't you? It is a big scoop! Hard to see over the thing when you are going up a hill! haha Will consider changing it for a reverse scoop once I finally fit a FMIC.
cullenmin Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I sure do, I've got the charge speed carbon fibre vent on mine and it looks sweet, very flush to the bonnet unlike the RCM offering. Mine robs me of half my money
RA Dunk Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 looks schweet, im with cullenmin though, newage scoops belong on newages apart from that 10/10 from me, must say it looks like its been well looked after

Nothing is cheap! So far completely serviced it, replaced all pads, discs, fitted braided brake lines, and filled with RBF 600 fluid. EDIT : replaced with Ferodo DS2500 pads and running Silkolene oils. Next stage is the suspension - front and rear anti roll bars and droplinks, springs, polybushes, anti lift kit. Once that is complete then I can go for more power. Currently have 260 at the wheels. Havent a clue what that would be at the fly - any ideas? looks schweet, im with cullenmin though, newage scoops belong on newages apart from that 10/10 from me, must say it looks like its been well looked after Thanks mate, the scoop came with the car - I'm used to it now, however would quite like to change it in the future. It actually took the best part of 10 hours to wash, clay, polish and wax! haha White cars and tar are a nightmare! Edited June 2, 2009 by hacky
cullenmin Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Currently have 260 at the wheels. Havent a clue what that would be at the fly - any ideas? You could lose anything between 30 and 60 hp through the 4wd drivetrain. I'd guess its a good 300 bhp anyway, at the fly.
scooby222 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 lovely lovely car mate, some really nice white type r's on here just now youl be starting your own club soon lol!!

Cool wasnt sure what a typical drive train loss was for an Impreza. Know a boy with a gt4 and apparently they lose upto 100 through the drive train! Cant wait to increase the power - its addictive as hell. Was up at the time attack and thats made me want more power 10x more!
cullenmin Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Was up at the time attack and thats made me want more power 10x more! I got the same feeling Was on the phone to AWD a few days later Whats the spec on your type R?

bobbyc Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Looks like a really nice Type R you got there & white definately looks the best, but then I would say that, Nothing wrong with newages Rich even the heavy ones, just add a few more horses & zoooooom
RA Dunk Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 White cars and tar are a nightmare! no need to tell me about that, i have one! your does look good though

Nice clean axample of a Type-R! there! Not a fan of the Humungus scoops either.. even on the newages it's looks too much.. IMHO Thanks, big scoops are like marmite on here I guess! Looks like a really nice Type R you got there & white definately looks the best, but then I would say that, Nothing wrong with newages Rich even the heavy ones, just add a few more horses & zoooooom Yeah I love the white, always liked white on certain cars and this is one of them! Cheers.
RA Dunk Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Not a fan of the Humungus scoops either.. even on the newages it's looks too much.. IMHO i dont mind them on the new ages as they tend to fit in with the "boxy" shape of them , but they seem to be all out of proportion and dont suit the lines on a classic
scooby222 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 boxy!!! i think purposeful is the word your after!!! Rich, for once and for all i do not have a big fat car!!! think youl find the extra weight in newages is the added reliability
jamesm Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Very nice car you have there. I really like them in white. Wasn't expecting to see it parked at the door of my office though!
RA Dunk Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 boxy!!! i think purposeful is the word your after!!! naaa, i think "boxy" was the appropriate word lol
