Fee got 7th in class, and a handy 40 points I think. Russ from Wallace Performance got 5th in class and 3rd in Qual. Gambler/Scott got 8th in class.

Looking at Fee's trap speeds at the end of the back straight  she has pretty big balls as i think thats a braking zone haha. The start/finish speed trap is on the power.

Hi all, yeah back from Silverstone and yes had a wee prob.

The practice was the first time out on the legendary Silverstone so had the power right down on the car and was taking her real easy to get used to the track and all was well.

On the warm up session I went out on low power then cranked her up but under full load in 4th gear going into 5th my N/S/F wheel decided it had enough and snapped 4 and a half of the five spokes WOW, bowl moving stuff I tell you, luckily the only damage was the wheel and cosmetic damage to the caliper. Thankfully John S and the guys came to the rescue and gave me a couple of wheel's to get me going. B) Big thanks again John and the team.

I really enjoyed the whole day and was certainly worth the 8 hour drive.

Back to the drawing board though as I struggled for traction on the corners, she is coming of the diet and going to fatten her up.

Looking forward to Brands Hatch as I iam due some good luck.

It was good to see the cars on track and speak to Andy and John S!

1st time at Silverstone too, great place and the weather was worth the drive down on its own! lol

Good to speak to Dave ( DR Motosport) too.

Need to see if I can make Brands!

I hope it's 3rd time lucky for you as you don't seem to have had any luck.

Andy's more than convinced the wheel failure would have due to them being powercoated. The oven process may have been the critical factor in the wheel shearing, a warning for all who have powdercoated wheels, myself included. Hopefully Andy will post up a photo of said wheel (sti 8's)as it is a tad shocking!

Have heard before that the baking process when powdercoating can weaken the wheel especially if they are forged wheels. The forged wheels need to be baked at a far lower temp but for longer to stop this.

I'm sure it was Banzai magazine i read this in a few years ago when they were doing an article on powder coating with one of the more specialised companies.

Andy count yourself lucky that could have ended up really messy if the wheel had let go completely ;)
