the squiggle Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 (edited) Cracking shots there SIDC stand looked fantastic and was in a great prime position Thanks to Kaylz, Gordon, Cruz and other half and of course the mighty GMac for some sterling work setting up and packing away of the Vision stand. Also hats off to Rosie for some sterling sales techniques, that lassie really could sell sand to the Arabs Never saw one single rally car all day except a stunning but very stationary Rothmans Legacy and that was good enough for me Finally got to my bed for 2.30am Edited May 24, 2009 by The Squiggle

cruz104 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 (edited) hi Folks Got a few thanks to pass onto you all from the Organisers at the Jim Clark Rally they were really pleased with the club supporting the event, to Kaylz Gordon and Fiona for the help on Saturday setting the stand up and for supporting the event throughout the entire weekend. To everyone who attended on a chaotic Friday night, the organisers were totally caught out with the number of spectators that attended on Fiday night, our stand was at one point totally over run. Big up to Andrew Whitehead and his Dad at Aitchisons Garage in Duns, they were so helpful, friendly and accommodating all weekend. Car of the show Imy's RA attracted a lot of interest on Saturday and was washed and polished by Kaylz and Gordon. Without doubt I have to say a big big Thank You to A F Noble for trusting me with their brand new White STI it had only just arrived and they trusted me with it for the weekend, so thanks to Alex, Colin, Mike and Derek at the Garage for everything. Grant, Imy and G Mac did a cracking job on the McRae vision stand so big thanks for coming down guys a long way to come but really appreciated you being there. Anyway thanks again and see you all again at the Falkirk Wheel Event, over to you Bobby. Cheers John Edited May 26, 2009 by cruz104

paul555sti Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 John well done on organising what looks like a fantastic weekend. I am stuck at work all weekend nightshift . I have enjoyed seeing all the pictures. Next year if i am not off for this i will be putting in holidays.
kaylz_555 Posted May 24, 2009 Author Posted May 24, 2009 (edited) I honestly thought when I first saw the second clip it was the WRC car, how funny is that wee remote control car clip, even had the WRC rumble in the background Think that was Gordon's intentions I need to buy him one now - kept him amused for hours! Thanks again John, you did well to get through all the stress! And the team effort went down well! No probs Imy , have to say it did take a bit of effort it was boggin'!!!! But it's absolutely gorgeous Oh and John - we defo need the barrier police at any future events! I mean er.. Fiona That was so funny - we're stilllaughing at so many things - I think the banter was what made the weekend for us both apart from the actual rallying. Cheers, G&K Edited May 24, 2009 by kaylz_555
scooby222 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 thats us just back and what a great weekend! friday night was a great turnout and a great position for the club stand-well done John for organising it. seeing the cars through the town and hearing them howl through between houses was awesome, then the drive to the campsite with Grant in pursuit and the borders finest trying to encourage me was entertaining!!! didnt get to see the mcrae vision stand on saturday sadly as me lorna and monkey boy ended up marshalling out and about til late. then today watching the reivers rally doing its best to complete a stage in the scorching heat and a toddle home with sunburn for the 2nd weekend in a row-roll on next year! top marks for blagging to Kaylz-take it you got into your b&b, delight to meet G Mac and many thanks for the fetching and carrying on friday night took 700 pics so il stick up any decent ones when i sort through them
Midnight21 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Saturday looked much quieter from your pics unlike the friday having to wrestle for a chance to see any action lol. Was ok later on when the crowds dispersed...managed to get a better view! Great pics and videos
Gus134 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Great pics there It was a cracking weekend,i took in Abbey St Bathans on the fri nite then popped down too Duns at about 10.30pm on the friday nite and it was jam packed,i walked down too SIDC stand but diddnt manage too meet any of you guys so i took in more rally action. Sat i went down too Leitholm,Fogo and Duns for plenty good rallying, really enjoyed the weekend and it sounds and looks like you guys had a ball aswell. Well done too the organisers and all involved
scooby222 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 hiya mate,it was Leitholm i was marshalling at on saturday so if you saw a blue blob sti behind the tapes that was me! couldve done with your midge cream on sat Cathy!!!
jamesm Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Looks like it was a cracking night on Friday. Had initially planned to head down, but couldn't make it in the end. The stand looked good. Well done everyone! On Saturday, saw all the cars though Edrom, Leitholm and Blackadder. Duns looked mobbed when I passed through after Blackadder so just headed on to Leitholm again. Sunday I did Bothwell, Ayton and back to Bothwell. Had a really good weekend. I felt there was a buzz and an atmosphere this year that had been missing for a number of years now. Everyone was talking about Duns on Friday night and seemed generally enthusiastic about the rally again. Marshal at Edrom said the numbers out in Duns were huge and took a lot of keeping in check, especially as most of them were plastered! Marshalling was pretty dead on this year. Most seemed to know what they were doing and quite relaxed whilst still keeping people in check, only on one stage where they being unreasonable prats. Will stick up a couple of pics once downloaded.
marky.t.s Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 looks like you all had a great weekend guys,i hope someone was taking notes for a wee article in True Grip mag
