Scooby Specialist Servcing

I am about to pick up my Scooby in a week or two's time and it will need a service at the start on July.

I was just wondering what Specialists in Scotland you all recommend? Also has anyone had any dealings with S&S in Ayr? Also what kind of prices are major services?

Hi,

Whereabouts are you?

I bought my car from S&S and they've been ok but I stopped using them once my warranty ran out.

I believe the dealers may be more expensive.

I now use Greersport in Glengarnock. Cheaper and really close to my house.

There's Kenny Brown in Hillington and also Hypertech in Bonnybridge which would be worth

the travel.

I live in Mauchline which is near Kilmarnock/Ayr but not really bothered if I have to travel that extra distance to get a service done for a decent price.

The car I am getting has 50K on the clock but it will be due its 60K service.

Do you know what sort of prices I will be looking at?

I think youre talking about £200-£250 from a Subaru dealer, the expensive services are

the 30k and the 50k so u are quite lucky mate!

Mauchline newbie. Dont know anyone round here apart from my gf's bosses at Amour Vets.

So any specialist's you's can suggest?

Jim the vet? 08sti?

For my first Impreza i used S+S for the first service then went elsewhere. I used Seditas cars down in Prestwick for the next one. Not long bought a P1 and considering Greersport for the service and health check on the car. Glad this thread has popped up as it will give me more options to consider

No not Jim. The other vets next to the Balloch Myle is the one my gf's works in.

I actually love right next door to Jim's vets. You ever noticed the black astra sports hatch sitting outside there?

No need to know what you get upto next door to the vets haha

Yes ive noticed the Astra sitting, nice car. What kind of Scoob are you getting?

The 60K service is the full monty, all oils, plugs etc changed.

People on Scooby net were saying £300-£400.

From memory, I didn't get any change from £300 for my 6 year/60k service on a WRX. However, the main dealer wanted over £500 for the exact same work.

I use Greersport.

fairly priced and competent at what he does :rotfl:

Damn you Sir - you told me that you would say I was "Good" at what I did, not just "competent"

As for the servicing, I'll drop a PM with my number and I can see if I can enlighten you at all.

I'll ring about and see what they all say.

Does anyone know offhand how much the 60K major service is though?
