I explained that was normal behaviour and not at all strange Thanks again Grant
ANDYJDMSTI Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Today was indeed better than yesterdays swimfest. The SIDC stand looked as good as always...............yes even Dales car was looking good and semi-clean Gotta thank Dale for keeping us on the McRae stand amused and laughing allday........and a massive thanks for hanging around and helping us pack up in uber quick time........Top fella!!!
scouk Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Nice to see you guys got a change of location for Sunday! instead of hidden away roudn the back And what's that I see.. blue sky!! That must have been an additional feature for sunday... Never mind... Would love to go down again for next years event.. But won't bother if it's forecast rain again... Thought it was just gonna be a few showers then clear up in the afternoon...
karps Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 My old man even commented on someone on the stand even polishing the tailpipe, inside and out. I explained that was normal behaviour and not at all strange You mean like this?
paulc555 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I must also add my thanks to Brian and Tam for holding it all together at the stand. Really missed going this year, but had prior commitments before I was able to organise the stand with Knockhill. Looking forward to Sunday though...... Paul
murtayamartin Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 turned up on sat with wife and kids in tow-torrential rain so had a nosey around had a chat to tom and bitz motorsort then went home via pizzahut in dundee i have not seen rain like that at knockhill for a long time-i was totally soaked and several cars in carpark had to be towed out!! martin
micra_wrc Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 it was a long 2 days at the McRae stand. as others have said Saturday was a total washout, it rained steadily for hours, so much so that every time the wind picked up it would lift the water that had gathered on top of the marquee and dump it over the sides, sometimes catching people out Sunday was a better day and we had regular traffic through the stand. many thanks to "muscle man" Andy and to Dale for helping with the stand, it is appreciated thanks also to rallye6 for giving me a gas cannister for my wee stove, i needed it for my cups of tea managed to have a wander over to the SIDC stand occasionally, but didnt really see any of the stuff going on down at the track. i'm still slightly stunned that the McRae family let us take the Legacy and marquee over to KH to sell McRae merchandise - unsupervised
pmacFTO Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 What do you guys use to get the exhaust like that? I find it hard to polish it in situ - I would be using autosol - is that all I need or do you prep it in any way first?
RA Dunk Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 it was a long 2 days at the McRae stand.as others have said Saturday was a total washout, it rained steadily for hours, so much so that every time the wind picked up it would lift the water that had gathered on top of the marquee and dump it over the sides, sometimes catching people out Sunday was a better day and we had regular traffic through the stand. many thanks to "muscle man" Andy and to Dale for helping with the stand, it is appreciated thanks also to rallye6 for giving me a gas cannister for my wee stove, i needed it for my cups of tea managed to have a wander over to the SIDC stand occasionally, but didnt really see any of the stuff going on down at the track. i'm still slightly stunned that the McRae family let us take the Legacy and marquee over to KH to sell McRae merchandise - unsupervised will the mcrae stand be there for time attack imy?
Maxxed_Ross Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 was a top weekend, even althouth Sat was a wash out I still had fun! Managed to see most of the track action on the Sunday so pics are uploading as we speak. I took 600 pics over the 2 days so I might be here a while!
micra_wrc Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 will the mcrae stand be there for time attack imy? doubt it dunk. the weekend was a trial for us and we've still to agree which shows to attend and what kind of people will be there. we've got our preferred events but it also needs to fit into McRae Motorsport's calender, and there are a couple of diary clashes already
sti_steve Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 What do you guys use to get the exhaust like that? I find it hard to polish it in situ - I would be using autosol - is that all I need or do you prep it in any way first? I use autosol but use a worn sponge with the rough top (normally for washing dishes) which takes off the tar and grime then put another layer on and buff off with a clean dry "rag". Works a treat for me.
pmacFTO Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 cheers Steve, I have also used my claybar to remove tar from it - works a treat too. I'll give it a go this weekend.
gus the bus Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Finally got back online after a few weeks off with a broken computer Looks like I missed another great event! Could only have been faither or Tam polishin their pipes keep up the good work lads
