hi folks. im heading to Glasgow next weekend (Thur or Fri), and im taking the scoob. so im thinking i should get it on a rolling road to see what its putting out. can anybody point me in the direction of one in the Glasgow area. is it too short notice? it will be my first time. not the scoobs tho, there is a clip of it on ou tube on a rolling road, the car must have had a fault at the time as they failed to get proper readings.

help is much appreciated. :D

Thought it was bad to put your scoob on a rolling road as they have a tendancy to go pop?

pop???? first ive heard of that.

how expensive is it going to be? i was told it would be around the £100 mark.

I have been at plenty rolling roads watching scoobies run and have never seen one go pop yet.

I would think it would be a good bit less than 100 quid.

ive never heard of one going pop either, why would it?

a mate got his cavy turbo done, cost him over £90.

Don't know where you heard that mate, but if you engine is going to go pop on the RR/Dyno then it was just about to happen anyway. because the Rolling toad wont put any more stress on your car than it'll be under on the road. in fact, its probably easier on it...

cheers Paul :D

No problem!

Just tell him it was Paul with the 555 that pointed you his way and i might get a discount of my next bill :P

( kidding Dunc as i know you will read this  )

All the good scoobs go pop, then bang, sounds great :P

reputable rolling roads will not do any harm to your car, duncan at Hypertech will be fine :D

AVA don't get much of a good reputation

i will be giving Duncan at Hypertech a call tomorrow.

my next question is on Remapping. where to go? price? discounts etc. for future reference.

wow, most of that is over my head. like, i have a scorpion full stainless system from the turbo back and a green panel filter, i thought FMIC would be my next mod then a remap. but there is no mention of FMIC in the mods list for a level 1 remap. also it says that there will be increased lag after a gearshift and sometimes induces compressor surge if fitted before it is necessary. when is it necessary? is it too soon for me to go down this road? is there other things i need to do first like Walbro 255 fuel pump? :D

Depends on what you want and what car you have. If WRX then changing to an STi top mount would be suffice with larger injectors, Walbro fuel pump and remap then youll get good power. Could do all that without the turbo which would see good returns.

Have in your head how far you want to go. You dont want to end up having a lot of power, but you havent changed the brakes or gearbox to take the power. FMIC is only needed when you are really starting to hunt for a LOT of power, and you need the friction caused by the turbo spindle to be cooled dramatically.
