pmacFTO Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) I got an advisory on droplinks and as I don't drive that hard or do track time I'm just going to stick to standards I think. Steve Whitson said they'd be fine but if it's not much more expensive then I may uprate them. Pros and cons? Harsher ride? Better (noticeably) handling? It's a daily driver and is on Teins just now and I had Hypertech stick some whiteline ARBs on it a while back. Just realised - not sure if it's rear of front ones need done! Anyway - info appreciated... Edited April 25, 2009 by pmacFTO
terzo neil Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 got whiteline droplinks all round on the terzo, handles alot better and aint any harsher
pmacFTO Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 Don't suppose Hypertech are still doing free fitting on Whiteline stuff are they? Or did you go to Geo (CuscoKid)?

I am sure dunc is still doing it but it would be worth a phone call to find out. You wont get a better deal than that. He is away for a long weekend but young dunc might still be there.
thewelsho Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) Droplinks wont compromise the ride quality in the slightest. Hypertech did my Whiteline ARB free not so long ago, so yeah, I'm pretty sure they still do free fitting on Whiteline stuff. Edited April 25, 2009 by TheWelsho
sti_steve Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) Don't want to hijack this thread but what is the most advisable upgrades for a blob. I'm looking at front and rear Whiteline ARB and drop links and anti lift kit...will this suffice? Edited April 25, 2009 by sti_steve
pmacFTO Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 no probs steve all good info. I heard anti lift kit is very good for the blob

If you are going to track it, then yes, those mods will be a good start along with some coilovers and geometry settings

I had whiteline front strut brace, rear ARB, droplinks and anti lift kit fitted to my bugeye and then got Hypertechs fast road geometry and that made the world of difference to the cornering. Then I got the TEIN coilovers and so did that!! Edited April 25, 2009 by scoobysailor

thefastone Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Yeah Geo will be one of the best folk to speak to, AWD also, where I got my stuff from. I have the Solid alloy Droplinks on my car, and I cant fault them, but it probably wouldn't hurt to go for a rear Anti-roll bar too, although, its not essential... but yeah, drop links all round, and 22mm Anti roll bar on the back, you don't need to change the front. now that's what was recommended for me by Grant at AWD who have tested both set ups. I know that there's others that will disagree with that mind, there are some that will say 24mm on the back and 22mm on the front. But then some folk also say that, that's too harsh a set up for road use. but like said, depends on the goals, if your also going to be using it on the road day-to-day, then focusing it for the track might be too much?

Firstly, thanks for the reply. I am yet to see what the main aim for the car will be but I don't use the car for anything other than fun. It's just going to be an expensive hobby I think I do have access to another veichle hence the reason why I may be able to go for a more track like set up. I will never just make it a track car only though as that would just be too expensive and the car is worth more ect. Will speak to Geo about it and then go from there
