paul555sti Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 (edited) Well the kids were at school and the sun was out so i thought it would be rude not to take advantage and go for a run in the car. I haven't been over the Dukes pass in a couple of years so that was my first destination. I headed out to Calender and then over the dukes pass to Aberfoyle. I enjoyed it that much that i did a u-turn in the main street in Aberfoyle and headed back over the Dukes pass From there i went up the side of Loch Lubnaig then up Loch Earn, i went along the north side of the loch and headed for Comrie. From Comrie i took the B827 and went over to braco. I then headed back over towards Glen Devon and back down towards Kincardine. If carsberg made back roads they would struggle to come up with anything as good as these. A couple of shots from the run. Edited March 31, 2009 by paul555sti
dan_jess Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Car looks brilliant as always! Love those wheels
the squiggle Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Scurried my way down the Kilmacolm rd today, first time in a while and it felt super duper
uRaBu5 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Looks fantastic and car looks well nice! Heading up to Morenish in a couple of weeks for a holiday with the outlaws – 18 of us in all. Trying to persuade the good lady to take both cars – too many good roads not to take advantage of – the S-max isn’t quite the same. Her worry is she will never see me or the kids and have to cook her own meals. Derek
sti_steve Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Love the look of your car in pic 3. Always nice to take a trip around good B roads Added advantage if you have a satnav if you don't know the next bend ect
jonboywrx Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Nothing like a good old blast down the b roads! Wish mine was sorted so i can make use of this lovely weather!! Good to hear you had fun
Maxxed_Ross Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 looks like a fantastic run! We'll need to get ourselves out for a blast together when I get back on dry land
thewelsho Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Yup, those roads are fantastic! In fact, I pulled into that very same layby and took pics while the wife was vomitting due to my spirited driving

paul555sti Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 Cheers folks! Now that we have more day light we should try and get a few mid week runs. The dukes pass is a great road but some of the surface is a bit tatty now. We would just need to leave a bit of a gap between cars to avoid the stone chips. Ross just send me a pm when you are back and we will sort something out.
Spaceman Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 am well up for mid week runs when im off paul nice to get out in the setting sun
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Please dont post anymore pics of this fine chariot of yours ! It gives me automotive wood. Those alloys are the schiznik ! And I LOVE those roads too - stereo off and brain engaged on twisties !
sti_steve Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 am well up for mid week runs when im off paul nice to get out in the setting sun Likewise, went out for a wee run earlier out to East Salton, Humbie ect (B roads in East Lothian) Would to go out with other scoobies for a bit of fun
mystery machine Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Glad to hear you had fun "taking it up the Duke's pass", Paul (if you pardon the expression). I've had some great runs over there, but the road surface was a bit minging last time I went up (late 2008). Had a great hoon around west Fife on Sunday morning - blue skies and bone-dry empty roads - yee ha!
Maxxed_Ross Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Ross just send me a pm when you are back and we will sort something out. Sounds like a good plan to me
