~ ~ Cal ~~
Folks, Has anyone any experience in wiring up new ciggy lighter sockets ? My car does not have one at present so wondering how to wire up a doubler socket for powering camcorders, Tom Toms etc Rapido response would be ace in view of the KH track day in a few days. I am too feart to meddle heavily with electronics behind the dash as I have a AVCR etc wired up and dont want to mess with them. Has anyone ran an independant socket and if so - how did they do it ? Thanks Cal Link to comment
the squiggle
Look for the original 12v feed, think it is yellow with a red tracer and utilise that If that particuler feed is not present then tap into the stereo supply for a good fusable feed Earth it off any part if the chassis Link to comment

Found the OE plug and whacked in a cheapo socket but it doesn't seem to have any life. I dont have a multimeter or the knowledge to go any further. What I did find in the back of stereo was a missing Lamco boost gauge though. Any other thoughts before I fire it round to a auto-mechanic ? Thanks Cal Link to comment
colin_ross
Socket only becomes live at ignition stage 2 so if you don't have that on that could explain it. Also check the fuse box down at your right knee. Link to comment
