Rolling Road Day In April

Hi everyone

I spoke to Chris at Linden Special Vehicles in Wellingbourgh today about hosting another RR day for us, he agreed that this would be a great idea, the cost would be only £30 per car with a minimum of 4 runs aiming to get 2 matching/close runs. We will be looking to get 20-25 cars for the event, the date for the event is open at the moment but will be fixed once there is a minimum of 10 cars.

A couple of really noobish questions here.

What happens at the RR days is it just an oportunity for us to bang our cars on a roller and get performance ( or not ) read outs. Dont they just thrash the hell out of ya car? Is it safe?

If your car's in good shape mate, it's perfectly safe. I think this one will be four runs (standing start then on up through the 'box) and the power output will be taken from the closest two. Thrashing the cars won't happen although they will be put through their paces I've not been on one with the scoob but I can guarantee it'll be a good day out... you'll all be entertained by how quiet and underpowered my car is!

Do you get to ride the road yaself or do they do it for me, sad as it is I want to be out side the car listening to it rumble

Same, never heard anyone drive mine. Really interested to know how it sounds screaming in 5th!

I would love to come Iain but i dont know if i can get my boost issues sorted in time. I f i cant i will prob come up to meet everyone and watch .

WhisperUK - i have had mine on the rollers twice and all thet did was strap it down, set the car to the rollers (Resistance) get it in to 3rd and then put their foot down. The car goes up through the rev range and produces the results at the end, they dont go through the gears. When i had my last one he didnt rev the nutts off it, the car did what it could then when he could see there was no more power being produced he knocked off the throttle, he also said ifvthere was a problem or it wasnt running right then he would abort the run, at the end of the day you are to see what the car can do and not break it, hope this helps, im sure i will be corrected if im wrong, but that is the general jist of it.

The first place i took mine they didnt have a noise extractor on the exhaust and i have a blitz, oh it was loud

Tempted, wish I had a job at the mo so I could afford a remap but It'd be nice to see what the Scoob's producing in its current form.

Hi Iain,

I'd love to come along for another run, see what effect my new exhaust manifold has made. Obviously without the aid of a crystal ball its hard to know the date, problem is I do a lot of weekend work, at work, and can rearrange things to fit in with this, any ideas what dates he has in mind?

Do you have any contact details for Chris as I wouldn't mind getting a price for a piggy back ecu upgrade and remap?

I have done it again and double booked lol, I will be at Airkix in MK on the 25th, it was a gift for Christmas so I have to go sorry have a good day, I pulled 350bhp at may last mapping session if that counts
