tommo9375 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 How do i go about cleaning my K&N Air filter and what do i use to clean it with. I've never done this before ,is it worth cleaning or am i better buying another one? Any help appreciated.
paul555sti Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Not sure what type of filter it is that you have but K&N do filter cleaning kits.
tommo9375 Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 It's a Panel filter from a 2002 sti
cullenmin Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Get the dyson on it. I'd be quite reluctant to use any fluids unless it evapourates, wouldnt want te duff the MAF
arch Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I done the one on the RA last year using the K&N cleaning kit from memeory you use the cleaning solution on the filter then give it a right good rinse under the tap and then leave to dry. I left it a couple of days indoors to make sure then re-oil as per the instructions. Make sure you dont over oil it tho

Cleaned my one a few months back using that method and no problems at all got the proper green filter cleaning kit from scoobyworld or ebay or something.. May be the same stuff as for the K&N, wouldn't have though it'd be too different
