Jumping Out Of First Gear

Recommended Posts

2005 Blob 27000miles, jumps out of first when doing a quick move off... When I dial in more than 3500rpm and dump the clutch the car moves forward then jumps out of gear.... Not that I do this often, but was messing about one day to see what the optimum take off revs are, turns out between 3500-4000rpm :)

Did it today as the roads are wet to see what it did and it kept jumping out ;) Thing is the clutch feels fine and the gearbox feels brand new and nice and tight... Under normal hard acceleration in first from a junction it's fine... just when i dial in revs...

Anyone know if this is normal for a scoob? or is this going to lead to more problems and should I get this looked at

Thanks in advance

Scott

My last car did this in 3rd, (2000 awd when it had about 20k on the clock). I would drop into 3rd and push it hard going up a steep hill i drove every day it would get to about 3k revs then the revs would climb but the car hardly increased in speed. I thought i was my imagination until it done the same on the motorway except this time it popped right out of 3rd to neutral.

When i phoned the garage they told me to bring it in right away, turned out it needed a new 3rd gear.
