burgy_51_ Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Got a new downpipe from meercat and i was wondering if it makes any difference getting the uppipe done before my car gets mapped on the 30th, is it going to make it more bhp than just having the downpipe done. cheers

~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Huge difference - you can run higher EGT ( exhaust gas temps) which means you can whack up the boost. If you leave the cat in the up-pipe you'll not spool up as quickly and there's a chance the cat could break up with bits of debris being eaten by your turbo. You'll maybe get an extra 10 bhp if your lucky CGS
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Just looking at your profile pic - if you have an STi or even a hawkeye WRX you're up-pipe is decatted by default ( bug & blob eye WRX's are different I believe though)
