Nothing really different from any other Scoob tbh fella.

Front splitter gets stone chips like nobodys business. Disconnect MAF to make sure it stalls. Make sure when going through the revs, theres no flat spots. And then usual stuff like history, panel gaps, etc.

Is it standard or modded?

Find out the number of it and go on the P1woc forum to see if anyone there owned it. Don't buy number 746, it used to be mine. ;)

Check if its had a gearbox or engine change, if so history/documents would be good. As said front splitter gets stone chipped badly and scraped underneath easily. I would try and avoid modded ones. Also insurance is very high for a P1 (it was a major difference between the P1 and a PPP STI for myself). Good luck but take your time deciding.

other than whats been said, knocking rear shocks are all I can think of.

In the current climate they're doing anything from 7.5k upwards.

If you get a good one you won't be disappointed

cheers for the reply guys,it is modded front mount and vf28 turbo, full service history etc, colzo are the modded ones more of a risk,as i keep reading about the oil pump being weak on them most have had a rebuild but dont think this one has

VF28 is the standard unit for the P1. The rumours re the rebuilds seem to stem from the fact they have the STI V5 Ecu which is mapped for 100 ron fuel. Apparently Prodrive did some tweaks to the map but it's still "on the edge".

When rebuilding everyone goes for either the RCM or Graham Goode modified oil pumps for peace of mind.

There are many P1's out there with 100K plus miles on them on original motors.

If I was buying used it would have to be standard but thats just me mate. A standard P1 is excellent as it is, mine had the Prodrive 18s, P1 exhaust and Alcon brakes on it. A front mount is a serious upgrade and I would be wanting to see lots of receipts for the work done, remapping etc. I've heard that the MAF and the oil pump were common problems causing the rebuilds. I know of one P1 that had a rebuild and they never changed the oil pump and the engine blew again! If everything has been done by a reputable company and there is catalogue of history for it then all should be well. Its a buyers market at the moment so look at a few if you can.
