buffalo
well after a long wait i finally got some bits n pieces painted for the car, namely winglets, flea bay splitter and vortex. spent a wet monday under the car getting soaked fitting the winglets, then attempted to fit the splitter. raging as i think it looks the dogs but its obviously a couple inches out as for the life of me i could not get it to fit correctly . i'd get one side and the other would be miles out. spent around 2 hours chasing my tail. in the end i tie wrapped it on as the were no mating faces i could stick a self taper. so looks like its the boring subtle HT autos one that'll get stuck on. (sorry welsho) anyhoo en route to work this morning inbetween dropping of the missus my vortex done a john darwin. when i parked in work the only clues of it previous exsistance were the remains of some 3m tape. gutted gave the guys in work something to laugh about so i thought i'd share it with u guys as i know deep inside we all like laughing at other folk f'ing up lol anyone know where i can get plastaflex, i think thats what its called. black adhesive stuff? also welsho were did you get ur vortex from and how did you secure yours? what a real carbon one and not carbon 'effect' crap Link to comment

scouk
Couple of things... 1) Anyone reading this, don't bother trying to fit those vortex generators on the roof of your cars... SOOOOOO many sotries of them flying off after trying to secure them properly! 2) similarly when fitting the front splitter, make sure it's fixed properly!!! Easy for them to rip themselves off at speed as they really do generate a decent amount of downforce! the're not just there to look pretty... I now have mine secured with 9x stainless steel bolts and rubber washers, AND clear silicone sealant around the rim to ensure no air gets trapped between the splitter and hte base of the bumper! thewelsho
Sorry to hear about your vortex! I take it you managed to recover it? I got mine from Flat4Online. Its a CF lookalike and I stuck it on with the double sided tape stuff that came with it. Even with one side not properly fitted, it has refused to budge even under hard accelaration and speeds in excess of 100mph (knockhill). Link to comment

buffalo
funny thing is i've got one of them too lol. yeah you breaking/losing things too blue dragon? (is that a will ferrel reference btw) Link to comment
the blue dragon
NOt exactly breking/losing things so much as being told things are broken. Put the scoob into the garage to get new discs/pads all round, a cat d/pipe on and an m.ot. No problems? NO chance!! was then told that the o/side hub assembly and bearing was fubar. Parts ordered...sorted. WRONG. next phonecall.... sorry sir the n/side hub assembly and bearing are also fubar. At this point the bill had shot up from around the 400 quid mark to just on the 1k!!! and still the other bit to be fixed. So all in all not the best week ive had. p.s Cars still not fixed as ive run out of funds. Iain Link to comment
