How Gutted Am I

Clearly should have been looking at the road instead of turning the aircon off! Had no idea the damage from 15mph !

Getting fixed by insurance that means there is an accident recorded against it eigh? Was going to stick it on autotrader tonight as well. Is this a sign that she doesn't want to leave me?

Feel for you mate, insurance is a pain in the a$$. Even if you didn't claim on your insurance but had told them about the accident they have a note of it and you will have to declare it every year for 5 years :)

So make sure that is the route you want to go before telling them.

Good luck

To late then already told them. Oh well, looks like i won't be getting rid of the car then....

jus keep picture like this so when you do go to sell it and someone says they've checked and its been in a bump you can show them the pics and say it was your wife parking it lol

Never good having a bump, but the damage doesnt look tooooo bad. The accident wont show up on the cars record, only shows up if its an Insurance Write Off.

Cheers,

Grant

I know that feeling, sorry for you mate. Did that to my brand new 2-week old Celica in 04. Hope you get it sorted soon and yes, let that be a lesson to you for trying to get rid! :)

i feal for you - i had a ford mondeo si 2.5 v6 and took a corner in the wet a bit fast and put in the verge - had to let it go after that wasnt worth fixing it - still yours dosen't look to bad - hopefully it will be back on the road soon :icon_butt:

Sorry to hear you had bother. The A80 really is the urinary tract of Scotland's road network :icon_butt:

As Grant says, an insurance job for that kind of damage won't show up on the car's HPI record - but it will of course show up on your insurance record. Still, can happen to anyone at any time - we've all been there (and with the best of intentions will be there again one day, no doubt :crying:).

Never mind, she'll be fixed up soon.

:(

Bummer! Definitely won't show up on the car's HPI record though, this only happens if the car has been in a total loss claim! As long as it is repaired well no one will ever know!

Thanks guys, yea thinking she wants to stay as well. Car getting picked up before 12 today, so shouldn't be too long before i get her back.

Think i am just feeling bit down about it because the car is outside, Once it's gone away next time i see her she will be all fixed! :icon_butt:

Then i will have a nice excess to pay then my premium goes up next year, The joys!!!!

And she is gone....

Def for the best, GB270 prices looking a bit low at the moment. Stick with her!

All Scoob prices are looking very low the noo!

Doesn't help when some dealers give them away though (you know who you are!)

Yep Mystery Machine,

Get her back tomorrow morning. So excited, never thought i would miss it that much to be honest!

Also going to see what was changed, if the bumper still kicking about will take the splitter off it.

Not getting rid now, decided to revert back to using the train to work. So only a 10mile round trip to train station instead of 70mile round trip to work... Save myself a small fortune, now starting to get modding bug. Want to get better exhaust so i can hear the burble more!

has anyone looked at other manufacturers at the moment and the deals that can be had,it reflects on used values.

Its unfortunate for people who have existing cars but fantastic for people looking to buy,its all relative as the changeover figure is all that matters.

Yay got her back. And she is gleaming..... Had the best drive into work this morning. So missed that power, now the modding is going to start. What exhaust to get?

Quaaaaaaaaality!

Glad to hear she's scrubbed up well.

;)

My last three motors (including the Scooby) I've missed if I even had to drive a courtesy car to work for a single day. Reminds me of that scene in Superman II where he gives up his powers (for to hump Lois), then decides he wants them back, and has to go trudging back to the North Pole on foot ;)

Must admit never really bothered with my last motor GF dinged it.

That was tough but what a smile i had once she had warmed up!

Forgot how heavy the clutch was tho. Instant power then the woosh!!! ;) ;) :(

Gav might have to leave me motor at the garage every morning and walk to Camelon station for the train. So i know she will be very safe ;)

Also think i want a type ra for a track day car as well. Trying to persuade the misses to swap her mini for one, not getting anywhere.

She wants one really ;)

We don't own / buy / want other manufacturers they can stay on the cheap deals, the mass manufacturers always had poorer residuals.

Scoobs always used to have good residuals until they started getting given away. Changeover figure isn't all that matters when you get offered peanuts for your car you have spent a lot of time and money on.

It is unfortunate right enough for the loyal Subaru people who get no loyalty in return but as long as there are other customers to be had that probably doesn't matter.

Bring back the old days!
