st3ph3n Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 There was a sprint at Kames on Saturday and Sunday. A few familiar faces were there and a few missing. Here's some shots from Saturday. The rest are on Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/st3ph3n/sets/72157606537854496/ Now I need to do Sunday's shots!

Linky Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Looks like fun. How would one go about getting involved with something like that?
paul555sti Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Looks like fun. How would one go about getting involved with something like that? If you are talking about hill climbing then have a look here. http://www.scottish-hillclimbing.co.uk/
Linky Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Cheers Paul, you know my misses will come huntin' for you for introducing me to more motorsport!!
st3ph3n Posted August 5, 2008 Author Posted August 5, 2008 John, on Saturday when you were taking that right hander after the hairpin you were getting some really good 2 or 3 wheel action. I was trying my hardes to catch it but I don't think the pictures quite do it justice. I like standing down there as you get a good view. I'll get Sunday's up later hopefuly. I only had 950 to go through!
st3ph3n Posted August 6, 2008 Author Posted August 6, 2008 Well Sunday's took a bit longer than I hoped. Up there now though - http://www.flickr.com/photos/st3ph3n/sets/72157606581009368/ Few of my personal favourites: 3 wheel motion from John - best viewed in super large! Archie hard at work The wee citroen doing the three wheel thing too. Did it all weekend The big TVR dug itself nicely into the gravel after this My mate Paul sporting the McRae stickers and having to give it a wee bit of correction
seafar99 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Stephen, it looks like you caught Every little incident on the Sunday! Top photos as well..
JohnSt Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Some excellent pics there Stephen, a wee Birdie told me you quite fancy being on the other end of the lens next year ? ---john---

st3ph3n Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 lol, I doubt that would even fit up the hill at Doune! John - if I can't do it next year then hopefully the year after that. Not sure what in yet. Looking at a cheap tin top to start with to see if I like it. Thinking an EK Civic might be a fun place to start to see if it tickles me in the right places. Need to learn a bit more spannering skills - oh and progress my career to fund it! Until then I will keep snapping as they're always great weekends and the paddock banter is good.

Early CRX with the 1600 Vtec would be my choice Would not need to fit up the hill at Doune, you would just sit at the start line and blow the competition away (literally) then clear your won path up the hill. There you go Scottish Hill Climb Champion and mass murderer at the same time, two birds with the one stone.
JohnSt Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Grant, you clearly don't understand Tank Warfare !!
st3ph3n Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 I wonder if it works like GTA - if you point the barrel backwards and fire you get a wee speed burst. Job done CRX is an interesting choice Grant. ...... wanders over to Pistonheads.

Job done CRX is an interesting choice Grant. ...... wanders over to Pistonheads. One of the real early ones mind. Light as feck and tunable parts are easy to obtain like suspension, brakes and LSD My old Civic Vtec was awesome and sang like a budgie with a gun to its temple. Never missed a bit and even survived a couple of missed changes that resulted in 10k plus showing on the rev counter. Go for it big chap and dont forget the clown boots for an extra second
st3ph3n Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 Once I decide to go for it I'll need to give Sparco 2 months notice to get enough Nomex together for a clown suit. I've already done some research and found that you can buy bucket seats in extra ninja sizes I've driven an EK civic with the B16 in it. Had it as a courtesy car when my old 1.4 (first car!) was in for a service. So I can imagine that in a wee stripped out CRX it could be quite entertaining.

Tank may be a good idea to make a wide enough path for John to get up in the new car dont think his attempts at modding the course with the red car were successfull enough I did try to mod the first corner for him but that wasnt successful either. Cracking shots again and thanks for the print

st3ph3n Posted August 8, 2008 Author Posted August 8, 2008 Which would put me up against some rather tasty machinery which would kick my ass! So no CRX then.
