I traded in the first scoob for a Leon Cupra TDi (Seat claim 150bhp but it RR'd at closer to 170bhp ). While it's good and the mpg is great (plus tax/ins is cheap too) it's not a scoob, hence me buying the STi a year and a bit ago I'd have done more with the Leon but the wife started using it more than me and she didn't want it remapped, etc, hence me heading back to a scoob
Johnny50 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Unfortunately, i'm already spending £55 a week on fuel...and thats with an economical car. Would be more than twice that in the Impreza.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted August 27, 2008 Author Posted August 27, 2008 Let's establish on thing - I shall be purchasing a Scoob around the time when I get my bonus .........my intention is to run a Uber Barge DERV and have a very noisy & rapido classic..... Johnny - you must have a fair commute ? Is the Fabia vRS CGS
nkwrx Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Cal do A4 Audi only do(remap) Audi ? Wife has a Beemer 1 series thats screaming out for more power but don't have a clue where to go with it. Cheers Kevan
DR Motosport Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I really like these Audi diesel estates just now. My mate has an A6 3.0 quattro avant and has had it remapped with an MTM chip. It pushes out 295bhp / 380 lb ft, and has all that torque from about 1600 rpm. It does understeer with such a heavy engine but he's looking at anti roll bars and KW suspension for it, so we'll see how it goes then. The quality and finish is probably the best out there, ahead of BM's and Merc's and miles ahead of a Subaru. I'm sitting here with a JDM STi road car, and a classic ra track car; and I can't remember the last time I had a really good blast in the road car on a clear empty road. Now you've got me thinking.

I had an S6 Avant with the 4.2 V8 engine... as quick as it was in a straight line it was crap in the corners or B roads... was just a bit too big IYKWIM, the scoob with similar power is LEAGUES ahead (plus I didn't like the semi auto box on it). After the last RR day with the STi I managed to find a plot of the Leon's RR print out. Having quickly scribbled over the top of a copy of it, the Leon TDi has more power and torque than the STi to about 3k, then the STi just about doubles the TDi figures from there onwards I am, however, hoping to sort that out with a full decat and remap on the STi though
Johnny50 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Johnny - you must have a fair commute ? Is the Fabia vRSCGS Commute aint that bad, but it sees a fair bit of driving outside work too. Yep, Fabia vRS. Good fun.

fai17 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I'm getting rid of my jap crap 4wd thing today and replacing it with a 2.0TDI(140ps) VW Passant Estate with 6sp DSG....might need that remap too. . . . .. . . . . . . but don't worry it's not my scoob but the Vitra Jeep instead. My scoob is staying for life with only 550/550+ to play with
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 Got me DERV remap last Friday and wholly sheeeet ! Got the same amount of torque as my old 2.5L PPP'd hawkeye now...................traction control needed in the wet as it was even spinning the wheels when engaging 4th gear. Getting circa 40 miles more to a tank too which is a nice bonus. Boost pressure is up by 0.6 bar now. also found out today I'll get my bonus in January and not April as I first thought so fear not I'll be getting back in a Scooby sooner rather than later ............it was murder watching those McCrae videos with all the burbling going on !!! Fai - work it up ye son ! Whoever ws asking about remaps for Beemer should contact A4Audi as I think they can do Beemer remapping too. They are also opening B4BMW in the units next door CGS

Big Daz Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Well picked mine up on Sunday. All remapped and ready to go. Not had a chance to drive it much, took it to the airport yesterday and it awaits my return Initial impressions - much smoother engine than the 1.9, bit noisier, too early to say on MPG but bound to be pretty good Really needs a centre armrest though - Away to buy its first mod I will have to investigate the torque in the wet on my return Cal how do you know the boost pressure now?
