tony_cousins Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Somebody who has sense and realises tuning a subaru costs more than any other car ( skyline included ) and wants a car that can be tuned to 500+ bhp for alot less money and without the need to worry about pistons, rods, gearbox, clutch, turbo etc etc But would not know who that is
tony_cousins Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 its loony toon Maybe but then again maybe not !!!!!!!! Evo,Sti,Gtr,Z car etc etc so many to choose from
tony_cousins Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 (edited) are skyline gtr 34s any good Nope too heavy and cumbersome for me !!!!! Nice R32 tuned and sorted for track will do though Ya never know might just get a normal car and be done with it, bad time to sell right now anyway Scooby has no value !!!!!!! tony_cousins Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 (edited) mine is up for sale but will only ever buy another scooby dont like evos ,was offered swap with skyline on pistonheads said no thanx Was toying with a sti or new wrx but to do what i want to a subaru will cost well into 10k and more !!!!! and even then it wont be totally reliable. And things like gearbox, engine internal etc will be on the limit all the time so would be constantly worries about the big BANG !!!! Plus fancy a change too And they are so common now, everybody has them !!! Drove 600 miles today with work and saw two Evos but on the same trip 48 Scoobies, and most were early models being driven by kids The new STI has grown on me though so looking at what deals i can get on one of those too Edited July 14, 2008 by Loony Toon

pistonbroke2 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 (edited) Sounds mad to me TBH. From what I've read, EVO's are not as reliable as some might think. Everyone I know who's owned one has had no end of grief with it. I nearly bought an R33 GTR before the scooby, after some lengthy research, it seems they too have their fair share of problems, gearbox, big ends, melted pistons, HICAS steering problems. I read that you can't even put a sound system in the back of it as the electrical load an amp takes from the battery at random intervals which interferes with the 4 wheel steering system and makes the car swerve at random basslines The best car IMO for tuning is the supra, the 2JZGTE engine is a diamond, the gearboxes are also pretty solid too. You can make considerable power gains for very little money comparitively. Edited July 15, 2008 by Pistonbroke2
granby Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Really like Supra's, as you say highly tuneable on a standard engine & gearbox
