aye, i would be more than slightly upset if it was mine.

For those that werent there operator exited the car whilst it was running down and car pulled to the side and off the rollers. passanger rear strap was round the back control arm and took the force with possible further bent things.

japperformance are going to sort car for alan.

It was indeed a good turn out special dedication award goes to jen for leaving skye at 4.30 am :driving:

as for fiqures my car got 252 for an old uk with pennies spent on it so canny grumble.

oh aye, dont know what was bigger shock alans accident or finding out how much rsrichy paid for his car.:D

LOL! I'd say! that's a damn good car you got there matie! that's before any real mods!

BTW - Cheers for giving me a lift back home really appreciate that!!!

Yeah mixed day... Got a damn good result in my view from reamapping the car myself and pretty much installing any mods myself and not letting garages install them! Very much a DIY project which achieved 273.7bhp before falling off the rollers :driving: ... Absolutely great resulty in my view!

But then there's the damnaged car... Defiantely an unforutnate incident, but Simon has pledged to do everything he can to get the car sorted as soon as possible.! Cheerm min! Looking forward to getting her back now I know the "official" power

BTW - if anyone has a photo or even a video of the car falling off the rollers lemme know!

For those who weren't there today and didn't see the car here's as much of the visible damage that could be seen without getting it up on ramps to have a good look around..

Ouch!

Squinty wheel!

Nice shine though!

Just have to wait and see how much damage there is other than the lower control arm... :driving: It's a lot of load to cause that sort of damage so I'd expect to see more elsewhere.

Yeah It's been a fair bit of a roller coaster since owning the car, what with getting pulled for tinted windows which were on the car when I bought it, driving over splitters wheel-nuts falling off, gear knobs coming off on the entry to corners, whacking deer and finally falling off the rollers.. Is that what normal scooby ownership is supposed to be like ?

I'm just glad that with all that, the expence hasn't been too much.. Most is just my own time getting stuff sorted again and time lost from being behind the wheel.. I think the £60 fine + Forced MOT and 3points from the tints was the biggest outlay.. Fingers crossed this is the end of it all. The car's more or less the way I want it nowadays just a case of keeping it like that so more care is needed.. Seriously considering joining the AA or RAC for protection during the McRae Gathering

Fingers crossed I get it back before Alford next weekend.. Wont be going on track as I'd like to get the wheel alignment re-done first just to ensure everything is ok..

If not, this is what I've been demoted too until the scooby is back: :driving:

Aye, I was interested to see what your car could manage on the rollers... Maybe next year eh!

Your a lucky guy having a Rover like that to fall back on.

Just watch the girls don't scratch the paint when there all falling at you feet Al!!

LOL! I wish

It's technically the "spare car" in the household which is handy for unforseen problems like this.. Handles like a bag o crap though! And shakes like mad due to havign no roof.. Havent even attempted to detail it unless we get the paint sorted out.. Different shades of white for different panels.. Never mind.. It's a set of wheels... And it's scheduled to rain the next few days

lol like my sell av got a old mk3 astra. after driving that for a fue days or not bn able to drive for the past month the scoob some how feels as so its go more power than it did b4 lol.

280? what have u all had dun 2 it if ya dont mind me askin?

Afterburner R backbox

3" centre & downpipe

Ported turbo

Green panel filter

Denso spark plugs

Walbro fuel pump

Ecutek remap (Andy F) to 95ron

287.9HP on the rollers, to many variables for accurate reading.

288 from an STi with those mods??? What am i missing here, doesn't seem right.

Mapped to 95 ron will retard the timing a wee bit and thats where some bhp will be lost, not sure exactly how much you'd lose through that though

I was told that I could lose upto 20/25bhp by not mapping it to v power.

well av got sports car n afterburner fulepump. plugs an k&ntyphoon. on v power. n gettin 330 bhp... am sure 95ron shouldna bring it down that much??

I won't admit to knowing everything about fuels but... From my understanding it could loose quite a bit... I know with tests there have been a fair difference on standard "performance" cars between super and V-Power etc. 10-15bhp

The 95 ron is probably safe enough but at higher RPM 5000+ when you need more stable fuel that doesn't explode at unexpected times, the higher octane can make a fair difference, particularly on STi's where you have a much higher revving engine.! The higher the rpm the more control is required and if the fuel is not up to the job the car will retard the timing to keep it all safe, meaning your peak power "may" infact occur earlier in the rev range and certainly not give the peak potential which the car coudl achieve of the more expensive fuels.

In saying that I would have expected the result to be higher than it was.. However the car clearly has no shortage of power in the mid range.. Saw that thing on the way home and it' really shifts!!! I would be intested to see it run in and mapped with 99ron fuels just to see the difference, but without any good fuels around your area, you've taken the "sensible option"!

yea,me and jen were both below what we expected- we were comparing excuses :o

my sti with 3" full decat, green panel filter, ngk pfr7b,zero sports air inlet thing and Andy F remap on 99 ron made 320 against Ali's standard ish sti?? making 325 ;)

do remember a thread from a while back on snet about newage sti not producing accurate figures on rrs though, sure mike wood got involved

Couple bars replaced on both sides of the car so sounds like it was checked over properly.. But I'll have a good look over when I get it back! And try get it booked in for a lazer alignment check..
