ed-209 Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Deal is done and should have the car by the end of next week Subject to final inspect when car arrives In the end up best price I could get a 2008 sti for was £21995 pre reg march 08 with 700 miles on the clock, but no one wanted my megane. So managed to get a 2007 2.5 WRX SL Wagon with PPP with leather and sunroof , 14000 miles FSSH, from a Motorpoint in Derby, it's a uk car so should have no problems warranty wise, all in less than 16K inc getting them to take the megane. It's not even up on their website yet they only got it in on wed, I have paid a refundable deposit for them to ship the car to Glasgow for me to inspect. So big thanks to paul at motorpoint for digging deep, But a big thanks must go to Gav for putting up with me trying to haggle down the price on their sti and GB270 wagon. So all being well, should be zipping about in it next weekend. Now to find a seat badge for the front.

So all being well, should be zipping about in it next weekend. Now to find a seat badge for the front. Been to see the car, couple of points that have shot the deal down in flames. 1.. no ppp 2.. IT'S AN IMPORT got subaru to check the vin number Thats the bad news over with.. Now the good news they had another SL without the PPP. still got full leather and sunroof. Originally from Vospers of Honiton in Exeter who are Subaru main agents. so 101% a uk car. needs a couple of small things fixed like a nail in the tyre, one scuffed alloy, car is fully standard, still got the wax on the inlet manifold, so will need to get steam cleaned to get rid of it. also couple of small stone marks on the windscreen. Hopefully get some discount on it to seal the deal. So sill getting a scooby again. Anybody got cobra trak Q, whats it like, any problems.
ed-209 Posted July 16, 2008 Author Posted July 16, 2008 Picked up the car yesterday. all the little things got fixed before I got it. very strange going from a 2.0 to 2.5 dosn't sound like a scooby at idle, but still goes like one. This is getting bad 3 scoobys in 8 years, already ordered a couple of little parts for it. (no major mods...unit 29/3/2010) does anyone know if the standard newage intercooler pipe/hose, decats/ induction kits ect. fits the hawkeyes. getting some one off decals made for it, but not rally or street. but enough so when people see they will know it's mine. Also signed up for the McRae Run. bought the stickers/tee shirts/ booked the hotel. AHHHHH it feels good to be home........ Sad or what? Ed.
C_WRX Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Sounds good. Any pics to go up ? Or are you waiting till after the "little" changes have been done ?
