I know this has probably been asked hundreds of times, but i still dnt no where to go.......im based in putney and i wnt somewhere or some1 that can look after my baby the closer the better, and when money permits (and the girlfriend) do upgrades, over time i want to be on the 450 -500bhp mark....

so who do you trust with your pride and joy from MOTS and little jobs up to full rebuilds???????

cheers

It might be a bit of a trek for you but it's still in West London. I go to Power Engineering, Uxbridge. They do mods, MoTs and have a 2WD and 4WD rolling road which are used by Prodrive. They have been dealing with Scoobies since 95 (at least) and are really friendly. When I got my Bugeye, one of the techs spent over half an hour just chatting to me answering all my queries (there were a lot!).

I found myself in the same predicament and was recommended Slowboy Racing.... http://www.slowboy-racing.co.uk/

Booked in for a service on Tuesday so will give you a full update after then but he is based in SW London so a lil closer to you.... Seemed very knowledgeable over the phone and like I said quite a few off Scoobynet have recommended 'em....

Torque of the Devil are in Uxbridge, they guys came from Power Engineering and funnily enough their workshop is literally next door to it. Once these guys have moved to their bigger workshop in about a months time, i'll be organising a rolling road day there.

I was there chatting to them a few weeks ago and they showed me a project car they were working on, it was a rear mounted boxer from a scoob in the back of a mk1 fiesta, think they said they were going to use it on a drag strip :banana2:

Recent (now removed) polls on scoobynet had nothing but praise for SLOWBOY tho.... so fingers crossed.... update to follow

just came back from the bodyshop..... still not done....

SLOWBOY will have to wait till next week.... :)

Well... finally managed to get my car over to Slowboys and what a gent.... Needed loads of advice regarding issues and possible power/suspension upgrades and even tho Neil had three cars on the go he still took time to have a chat and advise me one way or the other.... Did an oil service and gave the car a once over (also sorting out my knocking rear suspension) and within a couple of ours... car was ready to go. :rotfl:

I have absolutely no hesitation in returning back to Neil when it comes to getting a bit more involved and expensive.... Well done Slowboys.... :rotfl:

Thanks for the kind feedback guys

Luther did that solve the problem of the noisy damper ?

Yes mate.... worked a treat. Scooby feels ten times better now that the knocking noises have gone.... Unfortunately tho, I just picked up a set of 18's (yeah I know I know you did warn me) so any new noises and I'll be straight back for more attention....

See ya on the 26th... ;)
