About Un-ink

  1. Best to stay away from mines ecu, if you have that list of mods ESL or apexi would be the best bet.
  2. You need to have it scanned, fix problem, then have a reset.
  3. Various clutches, it depends on the feel you want from the clutch. Carbonetics Blade ACT organic Exedy Single plate All cope perfectly well at this level, as well as some of the cheaper paddle clutches.
  4. The 230mm Exedy clutch kit is fine for most uses upto 340 ish. Exedy would be a better option over ADL.
  5. Various combinations to achieve 2.1 and 2.35 engines, rod length crank stroke, piston height, bore size and so on. Cost effective stoker engines are 2.1 which uses the 2lt block, the 2.35 however can be achieved in to ways. The first and foremost the strongest would use the Ej22 closed deck, and second would use the ej257 which in fact is destroked to achieve the 2.33 by using the 75 mm crank from that of a 2lt so not technically a stroker engine, all of the above use custom rod and piston combo’s. The main benefits are increased toque and better revving engines.

  7. Slowboy Racing is moving and will be closed from the 9th of June and re opening on the 14th of June. The new workshop is next to Brand Hatch race circuit which is about 30 mins drive from the current workshop, this is a larger newer and more accessible unit making easy access from London, Kent and surrounding areas. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=TN15...5,0.01929&z=16 We will be having an open day soon after this, more details will be posted on our website smile.gif
  8. Wayne, The forge waste gate has increased spring pressure over the OE unit. This will give somewhat better boost control and aid holding boost for longer, however non of which can be made the most of without a simple remap of the OE ecu which would be the most cost effective way forward at this point. The 06 WRX can see a nice improvement over stock with this option. For the wastegate chatter sound you would need to fit ether an induction kit which is not really the best option for various reasons, or for similar effects a aftermarket VTA dump valve. In my opinion both OE Subaru parts work better than aftermarket kit at this level. Bear in mind any change to induction will need to be accounted for on the ECU.
