  1. It might be a bit of a trek for you but it's still in West London. I go to Power Engineering, Uxbridge. They do mods, MoTs and have a 2WD and 4WD rolling road which are used by Prodrive. They have been dealing with Scoobies since 95 (at least) and are really friendly. When I got my Bugeye, one of the techs spent over half an hour just chatting to me answering all my queries (there were a lot!). http://www.powerengineering.co.uk/
  2. Londoners, See link below for details on this show: http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=111469&st=0 This really is on our doorstep and is a great day out. Again list your names below should you fancy meeting to make the short convoy down there. 1. Bugeyed Martin (but afraid I'll be there in my Charger ) 2. 3. 4. 5.
  3. I'm currently getting mine fitted at Carmagic, North Harrow - http://www.carmagicuk.com/70050/info.php?p=1&pno=0 . You could also try London Car Alarms, Edgware but I haven't seen their work - http://www.londoncaralarmco.co.uk/index.html .
  4. Can't help but look at each gantry I pass nowadays. I noticed that most junctions have cameras on the gantry before the junction with the 1/3-mile marker (or near), except on the clockwise cwy between M3 and Staines (jn 12 -13) where there are cameras right after the M3. Strangely, on a gantry carrying cameras there is nearly always one lane which doesn't seem to be covered by a camera. Looking closer at the gantry above that lane (while sitting in the usual jams) there are two smaller boxes either side of the lane. They measure 9" sq and about 12" long with a dark circular lens. What are these? Are they newer camera setups? I think a gantry on the anti-clockwise cwy just after jn 16 has all lanes covered by these devices. If they are cameras then the single lens suggests to me that there will be no giveaway flashes. Does anyone know??
  5. OH my god. Pootling around the M25 this evening I discovered even more of the digi scameras. Locations that I've spotted so far are: Anticlockwise - halfway between jn 16 and jn 15, gantry before first bridge after jn 15 (one I mentioned in previous message), just after jn 14, and just before jn 12; Clockwise - just before jn 14 (on same gantry as on anticlockwise). I'm worried now that I might be missing some and I'm also worried in my search for all gantries with scameras I'll have an accident! Oh yeah, just the thing the scameras are supposed to prevent because they are SAFETY cameras, aren't they?!! I think I might stop trying to give locations of individual scamera sites as there are so many. It may be just confusing for everyone trying to understand where they are and lots of you might already have detectors. (I must get myself one!) If anyone would like to keep track of new sites then I shall keep plugging away. I may even start mapping them out - which gantries do and which don't. Otherwise, stay safe, don't let the scammers take your licence, and if in doubt use the 10%+3mph rule (but that's no guarantee either!) (Not wanting to stay from the thread, but if anyone needs advice after receiving a NIP give these guys a try http://www.pepipoo.com/Case_files.htm - they saved my licence.)
  6. I can email you the high res pics if you like. PM me if you're interested.
  7. This was my first SIDC meet and I'm pleased to say that it was pleasure to meet some great people with some great cars . It was good to chew the Scooby fat with some like minded enthusiasts, namely Mark, Ian and Steve. It was also a perfect evening (if a little chilly) and the Ace Cafe is a great venue as always. It was just a shame I had to leave early. Anyway, here are a few pics ...
  8. Only just noticed yesterday when I was sitting in the evening M25 traffic jam that they have added some new cameras to a gantry in front of a bridge just before jn 14 anti-clockwise. I assume these are digital because they are more square than the usual gantry cameras (seen the type before on M42). If, T79boy, your mate hasn't told you about them yet it could be because they haven't been activated yet. Any takers to test this theory?!!! These cameras are very stealthy because they are completely obscured in the direction of capture by the speed limit sign directly in front of it (the old cameras could just be seen above the sign or the gantry itself). Happy motoring!
  9. The rumour was it was a couple of months ago between jn 10 to 15 (the variable spped limit section). I commute between jn 11 and 16 and I haven't seen any extra cameras (if they're still in those big grey boxes on the gantries) - the only locations I've seen them is between jn 10 to 12. The question is: was it purely a rumour or are they really digital? Have not tried to see if the cameras trigger at 80+ and a NIP arrives through my letterbox!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Haven't heard your horn over the burble of your exhaust if you have tooted. Next time just do a doughnut and then I'll know for sure. If I'm not there to see it me boss will I'm sure tell me, as he has a silver classic.
  11. No, I'm not sure. Showing the limit of my knowledge . As Eurosti mentioned, it might be you I've seen, Steve, if you have the UK300 spoiler.
  12. I know it's after the event, but I can recommend them as well. I've used them before for my 944 Turbo and now my Bugeye. They say their rolling road is quite accurate in between calibrations and they are used by Prodrive on a regular basis. About 3 -4 years ago there was a Scooby meet there where there was Richard Burns rally car (replica?) from Prodrive. They have been tuning Scoobies for over 10 years I think the guy (Iain?) said. He is very knowledgeable and as you can tell I was quite impressed.
  13. Particularly, want to say hi to the Black blobeye (? - I only ever see the rear of the car!) with big wing, who regularly drives to Ottershaw. (Is that you BlackWing?)
  14. Now the second time I've seen you sitting patiently in that queue of traffic - bummer! But nice Scooby, anyhow.
  15. Saw silver classic firstly in Swakleys Shell petrol station (I in WR blue Bugeye STi), then a few days later saw again by BP garage on Bury Road. Has an additional carbonfibre bonnet scoop on the RH vents. See you at the Ace Cafe?
