colzo Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I've actually seen a good few subarus at the carwash place in Kilsyth KCW is always mobbed. They're not too particular in their washing ways but they're not the kind of people you complain to if you know what I mean.
colzo Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 The sponges are always nice and yellow and never seen lying on the ground either.
Guest Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Somewhere in Angus, ScoobyIain has just gone into meltdown after reading this thread and having horrific visions of bargain jumbo sponges and single buckets full of dirty water being used over and over!! Cheers, Grant You never used the place in lochee grant? used it for the golf and they took the lacquer off my bonnet
RS Grant Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 You never used the place in lochee grant?used it for the golf and they took the lacquer off my bonnet The only time I've been into one of those places (down on Ferry Rd, Dundee) was in a Company Car when I never had a chance to wash it over the weekend and the boss gave me a £5 note and ordered to go and get it washed when he saw it on the Monday morning. I would never take one of my own cars there, makes me cringe when I see new R/Rovers, BMW, Audi, etc using the place just because their owners dont find time to do it themselves. I appreciate that there are circumstances which mean that people dont have the facility to wash a car outside their home, but there must be other options available than this. Cheers, Grant
scoobyiain Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 When i lived in my flat and had the subaru i walked up and down 4 flights of stairs with buckets of water, watering cans etc to clean it. My new house doesn't have a hose outside yet but thats going to change soon. I will always find a way of getting my car cleaned.
nanaki Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 iain your the only man i know who would find a way to make water in the middle of a desert and then use it to wash your car rather than drink it. your mad i tell you but i have to admit the cars look a lot better once you and your fellow detailers get a hold of them. now if only there was a way to detail rust and big dents out a car i'd be sorted!
euan_r Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 ive got a nice tractor mounted drain jetter. this comes with power washer lance and i can clean the car at 200 bar. just got to watch not to pull trigger while holding lance with only one hand but fairly shifts the dubs.
sti pretender Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 So what's the most people have paid for a car wash. £4.60 Posh Wash in Newton Mearns. Hear the Bikini Carwash in Bridgeton is £5 and for £10 it's topless.
micra_wrc Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 so next months meet in bridgeton then!! what... for topless polish men to wash your car??
nanaki Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 yeah right!! only topless bloke near my car would be me trying to save weight on the quarter mile!
kaylz_555 Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 I've only seen one in Cumbernauld next to Broadwood Farm but having a black works van I'm not really tempted to go near it, I use the one in Falkirk Autoshine I think it's pretty good wash wax and wheels for £6
