Which Oil ?

Hi,

I've only recently bought my Scooby but it's nearing time for an oil change. The local dealer is telling me Fully Synth 5w40, my understanding of the owners manual is 5w30. Can anyone give some direction on this? Is there any favoured oils ?

10W/60 on a standard road car, that's too thick surely!

Any fully synthetic 5W/30 or 10W/40 would be choice.

Motul 300v 15/50

I've been using it for 70,000miles on a far from standard car, that gets driven very hard and it's never missed a beat or used a drop of oil.
