dooahhdoo Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Tearz dude, hows your car m8? Richard, yours is looking sweeeeet for Japfest
Boxer23 Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 PPPPPPPPPTTTTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSSSSCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Morning dudes!!
Tearz Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Nick dude the cars going pretty well. my seatbelt has stopped working and it makes a kinda squeely / chirpy noise from the front wheel kinda area tho. Roll on payday and i'll bang it down to SCP and all will be well Still not fast enough in my opinion, Jon offered me a prodrive ecu which would help things along but after looking over my ££ i cant really justify it then again i haven't got as credit card yet! boxer dude do you live at cross four ways where i always see your car sat?
Boxer23 Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Tearz dude, yep Cross Four Ways is one of a few places you'll find the WRX resting. Another is outside the house of gorgeous Frankie, the other is outside Xcel gym in Douglas. Go for the PPP ECU if you can mate. How much? £300-400? Definately a must for UK Turbos. Have you got it decatted yet? Release the BHP!
Tearz Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Well the chap thats selling said £350. had a quick skeet on scoobynet and they've varied in price quite a lot. one went for £70! most about £250. not even sure if it would fit my car dudes, will have to have a look then eat beans for a few months!
Boxer23 Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 A proper Prodrive chip will fit your UK Turbo with a problem. Becareful on price and make sure you get a proper Prodrive version rather some homemade version. If you want more power, it's the best you can get. SWEET!!! Pop, bang!!
Tearz Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 well boxer dude.. Jon mentioned it will fit if ive got the correct pins or soemthing? any of you dudes know how i can get to my ECU to take a peek?
dooahhdoo Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 I think it is above the passenger footwell. Not too sure though dude
Cret Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 << I think it is above the passenger footwell. Not too sure though dude >> I believe you are correct dude.
Kristan Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Take up the carpet on the passenger side and you'll see a silver metal footrest sorta thing. Unbolt that and underneath you should have a little silver box with 4 wiring looms going to it - that's your ECU! Unbolt that, disconnect the looms (disconnect the battery first!) and unscrew the sides and the pop should come off, revealing a PCB - depending on the ECU type (which should be printed on the outside in big letters) you might have a chip socket lying empty, just waiting for a performance chip to drop straight in! Is it ecutek or something for uk cars? I know it doesn't fit the older jap imports but I can't remember about the uk turbos.
Tearz Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Cheers Kristan dude. Well ecutek only work on the newer ones as far as i know
