Morning dudes, no word from the garage when my car will be ready [:)],

but they have said that if it is not ready they will give me a better

courtsy car and deliver mine to me in the north east when it is

ready.  Not too bad.[:)]

Morning dudes.  Just had a call from the garage about my

car.  £840 per cylinder head and a total cost to me over aboyt

£2.5k [:)].  Turns out that the work carried out on the timing

belt replacement has probably caused the problem.  They did not

refit a bolt properly on the thermostat housing, which has allowed a

gap to appear and the car to loose coolant.  This inturn has

caused a high heat which has fried the head gasket and cracked both

cylinder heads. [:@].  I have been in touch with the garage which

changed the timing belt and am waiting on a reply.

But the cylinder heads needed are on back order and also look as if

they are shimmed (???), which means the parts will not been here until

mid march and yet another month without my car. [B)]

But hopefully I will be able to recover some of the cost from the garage and get my car sorted asap.

Been in touch with the garage.  They say that you don't need to touch the thermostat to change the timing belt, so therefore it couldn't have been them.  They also said that if they had, it would have been refitted correctly and it is bad luck that the bolt would have worked loose.  Also they think it is unfortunate that this has happened and under no circumstances would they reimburse me with any money.

Well I think I need to give them a call and explain all the problems that was had when I first took the car back from them, ie Coolant leaking onto the manifold.  Maybe they did not fix that properly and therefore it is their fault.

Well I had some possible good news from API Impreza.  It turns out

that depending where the cracks are I might not need to replace the

heads but if they are cracked in other places they can supply them for

£250 each rather than £840.  Not a bad saving.  Also if I am

going to change the heads, total cost £1680, then they can supply me

with a new engine with less miles on than mine for less than that.

Hopefully it will all get sorted soon. [;)]

Just been speaking to API Impreza and the garage.  Looks like it

is going to be a lot more cost effective to get a new engine

fitted.  I really cannot be ar$ed with all this at the

moment.  I only have 1 week left and no time to sort these things.

The heads are completely shot and seeing the engine over heated the crank will need checking etc etc.  Lots of money. [;)]

Morning Dudessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Looks like it might be a nice day, gonna have a play later me thinks, have to take mother in law back home to ramsey!!

Nobles!![:D]

Had my pre-op test's in Nobles Jan 31st (pending double knee op). Had Wrightington Hospital on the blower yesterday offering me Mar 30th but could get me in earlier if they had my results from Nobles!!!!!. Praps they can't find the fax machine, didnts seem interested when i chased, just  will look into it, HELLO it's peoples health were dealing with!!

Nobles!![:D][:D][;)]

BUT, they can get it right as well, Tiddz came home yesterday battle scarred from a flat mate tussle that ended up with her in Crewe hospital dragging glass out of her hand, lucky they said, any worse and the tendons could have been damaged!!

Get's home and Margy aint happy, still appears to be glass in thumb, up they goes to A&E at Nobles, get's her checked out ( and the glass pulled out) and doctors up there really concerned that she can not bend thumb at all, appears she DID damage tendons, a&e doc gets his boss & then up another rung, end of it all she does need surgery to repair tendon,(this is 9pm by now) Couple of phone calls later and she is booked into Wriston Hospital Liverpool for 9am this morning, flights all arranged as well as eddie (taxi) the other end. and all this sorted out by about 10.30 last night, so good luck Tiddz &

Thank You Nobles A & E department, excellent work from ALL the team up there

Richard

PS, Moral!!   Steer clear Crewe Hospital & NEVER play with glass[:)]
