I just noticed another of his posts where he has broken the full car down. He lists the GB at £1950! That has to be a "bargain". Know any money lenders in Glasgow :blink:B)

So, if the box didn't fit, couldn't it be opened up and the bits taken out of his and put in mine? Mind you, that is likely to cost another fair whack!

It may have to be opened up anyway as the diff ration may not be the same as your rear.

This is small beer though compared to getting the kit at the right price in the first place.

So, if I managed to acquire soemthing like this, what would I have to do to make it fit?

Depends on the spec of your car vs the spec of his.

You may be luckcy and it's a straight swap. Worse case would be you remove the gear set from his box and drop it into yours. Speak to Kenny for a ballpark price and you know your max price.

Don't forget to include £50 for oil.

I do apologise John. I do enjoy your threads about buying stuff though.

Anyone think the JW spec car will be time attacking in 2 years?

I think he shunned away from the box.

Came to a decision. The good lady suggested re-financing my current car loan to pay for an uprated gearbox but I don't think that is wise as I took another loan on top of that to sort out the engine. However, now that I have that as an option I am going to drive it like I stole it and if the box goes the box goes, then it will be time to re-finance since I have that option. The longer it lasts the better as I wont have to borrow as much thus keeping the monthly payments down. If the box lasts longer than expected, then I will refinance anyway. I will use the box as a foundation to build a faster better car and hopefully/eventaully have the Time Attack car Stephen was talking about. As for rubbing shoulders with the big boys - not likely to ever happen; probably looking to go to 400bhp and then stop. At least this is the plan for now, and is subject to change at anytime!

Thanks for the sound advice... I'm not done yet... I'll be back! B)
