New Sti 2.5 Short Block Wanted.

I need to get my hands on a new 2.5 sti block, I know exactly where I can get one from (a Subaru dealer), but I'm not really wantin to pay the prices. So does anyone know anywhere I can get one for a decent price? I saw a group buy going on a while back for them anything like that going on just now? I don't really want a refurbed one I'd rather a new one.

Flat4online sell the block only delivered for £750 or the short engine for £1495 delivered. I take it you're pulling together a built unit?

I'm putting it into my '97 sti, as reccomended by Bill Greer, I'm pretty sure he said I just need the block and oil pump, everything else can be taken from my own engine. I'll have to speak to him again as I'm not sure. I saw your car in there Fai what's it in for?

What you need depends on why you're changing engines i.e. blown your old engine or just upgrading.

Up grading, as my bottom end isn't in the best of condition, and rather than get it sorted I'm just gonna up grade it

When you say isn't in the best condition what do you mean? If you have knocking, bearing damage or low oil pressure you may have to buy some additional parts.

Bill never said anything about that so I'm presuming it's already gone or something? I know they were putting an engine into a type r the other day when I was in could've been it?

Cool I'll ask him about it, I quite fancy the prices on flat 4 for a brand new one though. At least it gives me another option
