braveheart
Hey folks just thought i would keep you updated with what's happening with the car for the peeps that did not know i was planning to do the 2.5 conversion on my classic STI. The Good news it the battle has begun, the car was picked up today by SW motorsport by Stevie his self ..im due back in June to the UK so the car will be ready for then he did inform me it was a tight scheudle however he will have it done he will have to break the car in for me.. with the 1500 miles i think. then unleash the beast. And getting it booked in with Mr A Forrest for his magic. After a long chat with him i think im going to be happy with the result's with big BHP and Touque so hopefully give those evos a run for there money.. Also fitting some nice extra goodies to it some nice 6 pot's, will hopefully get pics of Stevie so i can post for you all too see of the build so will post them when i get them just looking forward to driving it again, after driving 5 Ton B6 Armoured Land cruisers all over the desert.. Then Bring on Crail hopefully will get a better time than my first attemp at crail ermmmm 24/06/2007 ID 11 - Run 235 - Time 12.970 that was my fastest Run hopefully another few or extra horses will help me beat that lol..oh and a better launch aswell it was pants to be honest and maby some 1 else driving ha ha. thewelsho
Hi - what gearbox will you be running with the 2.5? I could be wrong, but I think he is running the PPG straight-cut kit with PPG steel forks. Edited April 27, 2008 by TheWelsho Link to comment

Thats correct mate, the way ahead unless you want to go through gear boxes if you do the 2.5..there is probs other ways of doing it, this was the opinion of most people..and a good clutch also. Wise move - I'm about to put together a 2.2 closed deck forged stroker and am debating doing a 6 speed or a PPG conversion at the same time. Link to comment

In the long term I'm aiming for 500bhp but will need to do it in stages as the financial outlay is somewhat scary. In the meantime I'll continue to run the old faithful td05/06 20g until I can afford something rotated! Link to comment
