'carbon' Bumper Wings

Was thinking about these and stumbled across this on ebay.

Think they may look a bit guff in the silver (my car is black) but definately think something like this would be an improvement to my WRX rather than the STI winglets (which i am still waiting to get delivered!)

what you all think?....don't need to hold back lol

You need to be careful with conventional canards over here. I've heard/seen a few stories of people being fined for them and being asked to remove them due to risk of injury. I guess they look at it in the same way an MOT tester would - Sharp protruding edges on the bumper.

Shame IMO - i love how they look.

What bits? The front or side bits? I relaly like the front bit, looks kinda like the DTM look and isn't the speed-hump bashing height of a splitter. I wonder if those are avaialble for the Hawkeye.

EDIT: I did a search on Google and found out that the canards are the bits at the side. I also found out that Scott Lowe do that splitter thing as well - but only for the Bugeye; and at £248 be given that a miss I think.

Its the side bits, ilegal to have on your car as couls seriously hurt a pedestrian if you clipped them(apparently).

I see your point, but an invalid one. Firstly wing mirrors are not sharp and secondly wing mirrors would fold in on impact and spare the poor pedestrian.

I really want one of those splitters though, those look fantastic! I'll bet they can be that hard to make either!

Though they may not be sharp, you can still do damage with a wing mirror...

You can do damage with a sponge if you hit someone hard enough.

Some of the jap time attack cars run big canards. Help with keeping the front end stuck down at speed.

Dont know what car you have mate, if its a Hawkeye, a guy called Dynamix has a cracking looking one on his time Attack car, if you go on scoobynet in PROJECTS and look at Dynamix's thread and you will eventually get to the pics of it.think he mentions where he got it as well.

Thanks guys. I know the car you are talking about, I was going to copy that guys graphics; chequered design in light blue on the back if I remember. I will have a look at both links in a bit.
