Claybar

Recommended Posts

I never use the lube - bit of a scam imho - I use water with Zymol or something and just dip the clay in and keep the bodywork wet with a cloth - never seems to do any damage and the paintwork feels like glass afterwards. My other way of doing it is to do it in the rain!! lol - I went out after getting my first claybar (from Germany) and thought I'd try it on one wing then it started raining and I ended up doing the whole car! heh

You've obviously got money to burn if you're using zymol products to aid claying a car :D

Thanks guys, I eventaully took a trip to Halfrauds and got it. £24, a bit steep. It came with the lube stuff, a mocrofibre cloth, polish and the clay.

Thanks for the help.

You bought the Smooth Surface Clay Kit rather than the Quick Clay Kit which is usually £13. One bottle of the Quick Detailer is never enough to go around an Impreza when claying I find. Nice to see you're giving the car some TLC. Remember to protect after claying as it will remove all old wax/sealant. :D

To be fair car shampoo is as good a lube as any Detailing Spray, in fact the Bilt Hamber clays only need water as a lube! As for Zymol their products start being expensive when you get into cleansing and waxing, I should know as I'm a big fan of Swissvax products which I actually find better. :D
