Fuel Economy

Hi there,

I'm sure many of you have opted for a ssuperior exhaust system, however I will be runnign the standard system and mapping/induction setup and was just wondering what kinda mpg?? mid/high 20's?

Taking it easy with not much boost or less than 3k revs then you should be able to see 30 mpg. I did but it was the most boring tank of fuel I have ever used

once managed from peterborough to aberdeenshire on less than a tank and a half

most weekends managed to get through two fills sometimes as many as four

have never bothered working out mpg it will just make me feel bad.

I've got a 98 Classic, only things I have changed is Exhaust, Fitted Dump Valve & Induction Kit. I get low 20's MPG

i have been averaging around 300 miles from full to the light coming on

since mapped by andyf, managed 168 miles to half a tank

How many litres is a 1998 turbo 2000 tank?

60 litre tank, light somes on and most i have ever put in was 49 litres and managed 343 miles on that and managed 31.8 mpg on that run

When the petrol light comes on you have 10 litres left as your reserve.

Provided you always fill up before the light comes on the you should always put in less than 50 litres.

To be honest, getting over 300 miles to a classic is gonna be mega boring....

I've got a standard MY89 UK spec turbo - (apart from Green panel filter & stainless back-box)

I can remember checking fuel consumption not that long ago after a long run keeping revs low for most of the journey with occasional bursts of overtaking and thought to myself this should work out pretty good.....for me.

23mpg!

After that, I decided it's probably best NOT to check fuel consumption.

I just about emptied a full tank with a couple of runs into Edinburgh from the Borders and the rest town driving and i got 257 miles with some overtaking . I thought that wasn't bad

My bro has a CTR and he is getting around the same as me. I had an Ibiza Cupra before hand which was running around 200 bhp and that was pretty good on fuel averaging 320 miles to a tank but never felt very safe in that car. Subaru is probably one of the best cars i have driven in terms of overall performance though.
