j10 dly Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Hey there, Was getting ready to go to work the other morning, got into the car, and as soon as i tried to get it in reverse the gears were just grinding, tried all the gears and same thing happening. So turned engine off and it went into gears no bother, so turns out the the clutch is goosed, there had been no signs before hand of it slipping or anything. Anyway was just wondering if anyone had a rough idea of how much this would cost to get done, Im just going for a normal clutch again rather than uprated one. Spoke to local machanic who i think i will get the job done by, and he said that it is a very big job, and the engine would have to be removed to fit the new clutch, is this correct has anyone else had same problem?? Cheers James
euan_r Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) maybe release bearing has came out of pressure plate if you cant get any gears when running or hyrdaulic related. was it a bit notchy getting gears with engine off. if its new clutch parts are about 150 and something similar again for fitting roughly. regards job engine out/moved or gearbox out/moved. oh and new gearbox oil to add to cost Edited April 6, 2008 by euan_r
