New Impreza Owner

Recommended Posts

Hi there, Just thought i would introduce myself...

I'm John, obviously, and live just outside Edinburgh. About to pick up a, new to me, Uk impreza turbo MY98. It has HUUUUUGE miles, 160000 to be precise, however is completely standard apart from whiteline rear solid drop links. Standard stereo and everything. It has the later style alloys which were fitted from the factory. I'm purchasing from a friend, who i trust completely that the car is in fine order.

The car has had two owners, with the last being since 2000 and has been maintained regardless of cost - every service on cue with a service file about 2 inches thick. Not long after a complete service, and passing its MOT first time.

The main reason for the purchase is because my wife is expecting in 7 weeks, and my current clio 172 is just not practicle. She has a Fabia VRS, remapped to 180bhp and 290lb/ft. Very good car, apart from the lack of steering feel.

Anyway, hope to make it to some of the track days - and having been to the last couple of SIDC organised ones, they are some of the best around. I will usually be in tow with my camera, my other passion.

A few of my cars that i have owned over the last 3 years...

Cheers

Thanks very much!

I didn't know you were buying an impreza John :rotfl: Nice one mate, and we still need to go on that photoshoot yet :rotfl:

We sure do, i'm free tomorrow and next sunday if it suits. I think it was seeing yours at Knockhill recently, and when this came up for sale for 2 grand, i took the chance. I drove it last weekend, sweet as a nut, not a single rattle or knock - makes a change from French car ownership!

yeah only owned it a few months, couldnt justify the stick i gave it for the value of it, it was an expensive car and prefered thrashing the liner/ep3 about more

was a great car thou and really good fun on dry roads

toyed with getting another mini classic as a project
