Carson Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I'm feeling guilty as the cars been off road for nearly a year, I'm looking for the correct order of maintenance I can follow to regain her fitness safely again. The list of products I have are as follows Millers engine and box oil - with flush Slick50 gearbox treatment, engine treatment and injector cleaner Fuel filter Oil filter HKS high flow air filter Magnicor HT leads with NGK sparks Front and rear disks and pads and dot fluid GUNK engine cleaner The cars been turned over regular and lapped round the estate etc to keep her ticking over. And regular wd40 on parts I thought would need protected by dampness. Any help would be appreciated. eg what to look out for when 1st driving, lube points "shut it mic" order of when to use the treatments etc. thanks in advance Chris

fraser87uk Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Yeah the engine one is a piece of piss. Stick it in the oil go for a drive 10 - 20 miles at medium revs > go home > do a poo > jack car up from passenger side > sump plug out > let the oil all drain out > pre fill your new filter > bung the new filter on > fill up the engine > check levels > allow 10 mins to settle > start car and then smoke some chavs. Done.
fraser87uk Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 your millers flush and slick 50 treatment ae much of a muchness really. think they do the same thing dont they.
st3ph3n Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Aren't the slick 50 products as useful as snake oil?
dipsy Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 You have good quality oil there so no need for usless oil additive's
WUZ Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 PLEASE GOD - DO NOT USE THE SLICK 50 ENGINE TREATMENT! BAD NEWS ALL ROUND! Everything else is fine but NOT THE SLICK 50 ENGINE TREATMENT! Russell
Carson Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 Engine treatment stuffs is binned. Am not going to question it Am going to run the car with the millers flush, then stick in the new stuff and do the box oil. "wus: bad all round " And lubrication points? eg areas that might have got seased or need 0 friction to operate right Cheers Chris
