jcscoob Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Just noticed this thread, very interesting its all looking the business, and now its all the clean work, enjoy and good luck
terzo neil Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 thats nice and clean john did you run at kames today ?, never managed down as call out week been very busy
JohnSt Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 Polycarbonate windows arrived today. Nice and light compaired to 2dr glass, Huge window. I only had a slider installed in the driver side as it will rarely have passengers. Need to think of a cunning way to keep the windows from pulling out at speed as they do in the old car, I curently tape these in with Duct tape whick looks really gash. Going to try and fabricate a frame. would rather not use steel as it's heavy, but might have no choice given my timescales. ---john---
seafar99 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Peter, The doors are fibreglass and as such are very flexable as they have no steel bracing inside, that along with the flexable plastic/polycarbonate windows which are frameless is always going to be problematic. Unless you add frames and or stiffen the doors.

andy Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I just spotted this topic too (Admin with his finger on the pulse, eh?!) I love reading this kind of thing. Couldn't ever even dream of attempting anything like it myself, but I do like reading about other's ventures. Keep it coming and plenty pics - I likes pics. It makes the techie stuff semi-understandable to a muppet like me
JohnSt Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 I suspect it will be similar to the old one, some bits are heavier, but others are no longer present. Somewhere between 1000-1050kg
