corsa Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 It came about after a picture that was p[osted up on here i copied and posted on another forum as one of my fellow rally folk was in the background of the shot, he then replied as follows; Quote "Posted: Tue Feb 19, 2008 4:40 pm Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope the "Subaru owners club" werent pals of yours Corsa as they left a pile of rubbish and cans where they had been standing. Tut tut. Any more comments from my fellow sidc members that were present?

Tut tut. Any more comments from my fellow sidc members that were present? TBH - when I read your first post I thought it was a wind up and you were going to come up with some funny photo.. But as it seems more serious.. No It wasn't us... (as far as I know) To hell with waiting.. post the evidence up and let us know who is accusing us of this "pile of rubbish" I don't know any of us who left anything behind.. As stated above the only things were were really carryign was camera equipment.. As far as I know none of us were drinking from cans.. And if it was can's of alcohol, you really think we woudl spend the day drink driving!!! Don't want to cause a fuss over this but Not Guilty!! I've been goign to rallies since 2000 and I have noted that the spectators at the snowman tend to be more reckless than at other events personally with rally cars goign past at high speed and on the limit I'd want to be sober!.. Oh.. and in the off chance it was one of us, I'm sure we'd be only happy to confess... This certainly isn't the sort of impression the SIDC want's to give out! Edited February 23, 2008 by ScoUK

It just goes to show you that people are always looking for something in one format or the other. Cheers for the response. and tbh i dont really think posting up the pics wqill help anyone and just turn the thread sour.I just hate litter louts.

We're a well behaved lot in this part of the country.. If anything what's probably happened is that there was a mess left somewhere and someone noticed the mess beign left behidn by peopel wearing Subaru Jackets and saw a photo of us and assumed we were the ones makign a mess. I'm more than happy to admit if I'm found wrong....
euan_r Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 if they were wearing subaru jackets, it must have been us. lol. quick call the cops
spooks Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Thanks for the comments on the pics guys, i appreciate that. Dave I can assure ya that no one was leaving any litter, I must say I was peed a bit when I realised that you were being serious.
cullenmin Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Sh.it I left my thermos back there! In all fairness there was loads of scoobies there and lots of scooby jackets, most of them not on this forum, it is a shame for the litter bugs spoiling it and shaming the wrong community of people! Anyway, vid of mk2 escort rolling I put on youtube before heading to Munich... I think Dave's poor attempt at helping the poor guy out of the ditch was rather funny
scooby222 Posted February 24, 2008 Author Posted February 24, 2008 poor attempt! first i started it moving, then i supervised the rest of the effort-hed still be stuck without my careful directions! picked up the new motor yet Rich? or is that why your off to munich?
cullenmin Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 poor excuse dave! Munich has absolutely no scoobies, in fact I didna even see any jap cars. I did walk down a posh street with loads of X5's, very nice Audi's, bentleys and porsche's parked up outside hotels etc. One porsche was an orange 911 GT3 drivin up then down the street... No new car yet..................................
jamesm Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 There are a lot of people go to rallies wearing Subaru gear, most of whom I would assume don't even own a Subaru. I was at stage 5 from before it started to the bitter end. There were crowds of people walking in carrying in huge cases of beers. Then the same people would walk out empty handed, so obviously just left the rubbish lying about. Where I was stnding people were leaving stuff on the gound. It does seem to be more of a problem on the Snowman than other rallies, but you do get it everywhere. Unfortunatly it give us all a bad name, but everyone should not be tarred with the same brush.
scouk Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Just found this clip of the escort rolling in front of us on stage 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7JNT0hZzqU Guy that took the video was the long haired marshall that was standing next to us!
cullenmin Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 nice clip there Al, take note that no-one is litter dropping
