Piaa Sports Horns

I have bought a set of these PIAA Sports Horns to replace the rather embarrassing standard horns.

I have a newage blobeye.

Got them today and eagerly headed out to the car to fit them. :rotfl:

Removed the upper grille, simple.

See the standard horns, no probs.

Removed old horns and replaced with PIAA Horns in the same place but they are fouling with the grille when I try to pop it back on. :P

Has anybody else fitted these bad boys?

How did you do it?

Where did you position them?

Did you need to make up a special bracket or drill extra holes somewhere?

Thanks,

Stu. :rotfl:

i have a set of these on my car(blob eye) and they fitted with no problems at all.you need to make sure that the outlet on the horns are pointing towards the floor, and the piaa stickers are facing you.you should not have any probs, hopefully. :P

Gary, did you position yours differently from the originals?

My originals are bolted to a hole just to the right of centre and the other is to the left of the right hand head light (as you look from the front of car).

When I try to position them in the same place as the originals they won't sit properly, as you have described above, :P

i.e. outlet on the horns are pointing towards the floor, and the piaa stickers are facing you.

Gary,

Pictures would be a much appreciated. :P

I don't want to start drilling holes and getting special brackets made if I don't have to.

I'm turning a 20 min job into a full scale A-Team project. :rotfl:

P.S. I have the prodrive grille set on my car, not sure if that's causing any of the problems I seem to be having.

Gary,

Just noticed your car has exactly the same grille set as mine so that can't be causing the problem. :P

Nice car by the way. :rotfl:

Eventually got round to fitting the new horns today.

As you can see I had to use a couple of small brackets to position the horns.

A couple of pics here. Just incase anyone comes up against the same problems I had when I first tryed to fit them.

They sound superb, by the way.

I would also like to ditch the standard horn with something a little beefier, does anyone have any experience of changing the horn from the classic impreza? Or should I just start a new topic?

Sorry to be negative about your handy work but those brackets / bolts look like they're going to rub away on the radiator?

Cheers, Paul T.

I see what you are thinking but they are actually not in contact with the radiator and nothing has moved since fitting.
