scooby222 Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 happy days, my car actually handles again! big thanks to duncan at hypertech for setting it up a treat, what a difference. after three goes the supplying dealer finally put it out with settings that made the car feel lethal and so unstable that the abs cut in even under light braking, i cant emphasise my disgust with the dealer and wouldnt trust them with a pushbike. but at least its sorted now, so time for more power i think...
thefastone Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 So who was the dealer? name and shame where needed - Credit where credit is due...
colzo Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 What model is your car and what settings did you get mate? Only heard praise for Hypertech (must pay them a visit some time).
pmacFTO Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I went for a random drive yesterday and ended up at Hypertech and had a good chat with Duncan - knows his stuff and seems to care what he does to ppls cars so I will be looking to go back for an alignment once I get some 17" on my car and sell the 19" as they really affect handling. He did say the whiteline anti-lift kit really makes a big difference tho - any of you got that? A good mod?
scooby222 Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 being wary of people watching the internet with lawyers at the ready il just say i wont be shopping in cupar again,if anyone wants more info pm me, ive a lot to say. ive got an 05 sti with prodrive springs, duncan put on his own fast road settings, more aggressive than standard but less wear inducing than prodrive - handles better now than when it left the factory, feels closer to a classic now with loads of mid corner adjustability. had lots of problems getting the set up done properly and hypertech was one of the few places i had only heard good about and was definitely worth it.
euan_r Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 glad to hear your happy with the car again dave went to rr day at hypertech and the lads definitely do their best to help you out.
cullenmin Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Glad you got it sorted min, thats been a good while not handling right, shocking
scouk Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Glad to hear you got things sorted! Any chance you could post up the Suspension configuration? (Or PM me with them ) Dare I say it I've been working on my own configuration based on what I got done last year and what the prodrive spec really is.. Ideally looking for something in between. I need to take a good look at the tyre wear on each of the tyres (on a not so cold day) and decide how far to pull the camber in without harming tyre wear too much.. Hoping to get mine redone this year now that I'm more used to the car and want to get the most out of it! I can actually "feel" that it's off balance just now... Just dont ask me to take a left hand bend...

I have the Anti Lift Kit fitted and it is indeed a worthwhile mod. Makes the front end feel more planted, provides better grip in the corners as it negates understeer and better traction when accelerating out... Also. helps to make the car more secure uinder heavy braking . Go for it!
b4z Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 any where good for doin this kinda work in fife or close by??
