The first event of the season is usually pretty quiet so you should get plenty track time.

Is this a free-for-all day, where you get 500quid Novas up against 50k Porsches.. and the "rubbing's racing" rule is applied.. or is it more quality stuff (>6k) having a laugh but not giving it max attack moves and nudging other cars out the way??

Cheers,

Grant

It is a track day for car makes and types. Knockhill put cones up on the corners to stop "rubbing is racing" as you put it. I done 5 track days there and had no problems. Stay away from the boy racers and you will be ok. I think they do have someone to sit beside you if need not 100% sure phone knockhill and ask.

First time this year at Knockhill and it was quite busy, there were alot of Subaru's and Evo's spectating as well as some on the track, arrived just after 1 o'clock to just miss a crash were a Pulsar will require some body work along the drivers side and a corsa will need a new front end. After the marshall quickly cleared the track off went the "mad men" again, I haven't seen as much violence towards track cones in my few trips up to knockhill.lol The stewards were kept busy all day clearing up oil from a porker and removing obliterated traffic cones. As the day ended there was a cough and splutter and a Evo limped passed the rear of my car and died. Front end had met up with something harder than it!!!!! It wasn't a day for the faint hearted and I hope all the driver and cars made it home safely.

There were plenty of Scoobies spectating, P1, STI and numerous WRX(Hawkeye), there were a few classics too, another enjoyable day, except now the ball and chain want's an Evo VI!!!!!!!!!!!!Divorce coming soon.

Who all went??

I was there with the Spec C, it was quite quiet for a H/H day, track was mainly dry, I fair enjoyed masell :o

2 blue newage and a green wagon were out although I think the quickest thing I passed was a red RS turbo with a 4" front exit flaming exhaust ??

Just done around 30 laps in the morning and was back home for 1:30 ;)

I was there but I didnt see any of you lot!

Andy, the red rs turbo escort is my mates car. Hes built the whole thing himself and is constantly developing it to make it even better, saw the car today and hes got the engine out again to put some more trick bits in it!!

He used to work for Mclaren Mercedes F1 Team so knows his stuff. Its currently running around 500 bhp not including the nitrous!
