thewelsho Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Nice pics. I gave up on photography, too expensive plus I don't have the patience. On saying that though I have signed up for a Sat morn class that deals with studio photography, maybe that will re-ignite my interest in it.
wilky Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 He used a gun called an SLR... I believe he's actually known in some circles as Callum the Gun... Cheers, Grant No no, Callum the gun is the gunsmith Callum Ferguson, a legend in his own boresighting. I am merely a mortal, who hasnt posted for a while and who drives a mildly tuned subaru when his enthusiam and pocket allows. I just found SLR funny, to me it means Self Loading Rifle, it was the standard Rifle in the army from 1956 to 1987. Sorry for any confusion. Nice pics Cal, can you do passport photos Callum W
the squiggle Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 To me SLR means Bloody Quick Mercedes Cracking pics Cal
scientific steve Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I just found SLR funny, to me it means Self Loading Rifle, it was the standard Rifle in the army from 1956 to 1987.Sorry for any confusion. Callum W 7.62 and the FN could fire in auto mode if i remember
wilky Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 7.62 and the FN could fire in auto mode if i remember Thats right Steve, the UK FN FAL or SLR as it was called only had single shot, and a 20 round magazine, you could make it fire automatic by putting a match in the sear but it was dodgy. some people put the LMG (Converted bren) 30 round mag on it but it made the rifle muzzle heavy. The FN FAL made in Belgium and exported to Rhodesia, Argentina etc did have a fully automatic mode on it. The Australians had a shotened version nicknamed "The b*tch" Dunno if it was general issue but that had full auto as did thier SLR I think. It was shortned for jungle work such as Vietnam. Sorry for going off topic Callum W
spooks Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Gid photos mate..On another note tho... If any of you guys have Nikon cameras , or want one ( or lenses etc ) let me know.. I spoke to my cousin yesterday (works with Nikon ) and he can get stuff cheap.... You can get a price for a D300 body and a 50mm F1.8 lens for me matey. Doubt I could afford the body for some time yet but would be interested in a price.
